I am a chef and owner of a restaurant, Dai Pera, located in the neighborhood of my flat.
I was born in Istanbul, lived all my life here and am in love with this city..
Simply....Arzu and her place were wonderful! My daughter and I spent a delightful week in Istanbul at Arzu's apartment. The apartment was all that we hoped for, the location was terrific, and Arzu was a kind and gracious host. Even better, we learned that her nearby restaurant was amazing as well. Thank you Arzu for making our trip to Istanbul such a great experience!!!!!
Everything was a delight : the view from the apartment, the location and the apartment itself.
Arzu is a very nice person and the restaurant she is holding in the neighborhood is just perfect.
This area of the city is very exciting, but people who cannot walk easily should pay attention to the fact that small streets are going uphill and downhill.
That's also part of the charm.
Great hospitality and the view is so much better than the pictures. Apt had everything I needed. Location also ideal - close to everything but a few blocks off of the noisier streets. One caution: to earn the view you have to climb quite a few stairs; for me entirely worth it but then again I didn't bring much luggage.
What a truely wonderful apartment! Arzu was very friendly and helpful. The walk up the hill followed by five flights of stairs was well worth it once the veiws hit you. The photos dont do the views justice and they have to be seen to be beleived. Most of Istanbuls main historical attractions can be seen from the huge windows from the lounge and the balconies. The air con was wonderful, especially after the five flights of stairs! The apartment was well equipped and felt more like we where staying at a friends house rather than a holiday let. The apartment wasnt pristine but this again added to the homely and relaxed feel to the place. We loved every minute of being there and where extemely happy Arzu could accomodate us for an extra night at the beginning of our stay. Local area has every you need and is quiet compared to the hussle and bussle of alot other areas. A few small supermarkets, bakery, butchers, quirky shops and tea bars are all on the doorstep while a short strole through the winding streets gets you to the livelier shopping, drinking and eating district. Historical sights are around half hour walk away. There is so much to do in Istanbul that we only seen a fraction of it over six nights! Plus side to this is we will have to come back and see the rest, and Arzus apartment will be top of the list for were we would stay!
Very nice apartment in an excellent location, with a really beautiful view! I wasn't sure when we booked it if the view would be something we'd need binoculars to see, but when we opened the door we were immediately struck by the panorama outside! It felt very much like a friend's apartment- not fancy, but comfortable. Everything was clean and serviceable, and we felt very much at home. The apartment was a short (but steep!) walk from the Tophane tram stop and lots of nightlife, and maybe 15 minutes walk from Taksim Square. Just be aware that it is on the top floor, five flights up, and the neighborhood is extremely hilly and full of winding streets. But there's something interesting around every corner in Cihangir/Beyoglu, so by all means put on comfortable shoes and get yourself lost! We also recommend Arzu's restaurant, Dai Pera, where we had a lovely meal.
Arzu's apartment was great. The views are spectacular, the location of the apartment is great and Arzu is wonderful. She was accommodating and I was lucky to stay in such a great apartment on my first trip to Istanbul. I would recommend it to anyone.
Arzu is also a very talented chef and being a chef myself, we had plenty to talk about and we created a great bond through food. Her restaurant is called Dai Pera and the food is amazing, it's close to the apartment so I would recommend it to anyone visiting Istanbul. Thanks for everything Arzu, you're a fantastic host and an amazing chef and I'm happy to have met you!
We stayed here for 2 weeks and were really happy with it. The location can not be beat and the view is to die for. The apartment is at the top floor of a 6-story building without an elevator, so it is some exercise to get to it. (Istanbul is a city of hills so there is no circling around this kind of exercise anyway.) It has everything you need should you want to spend some indoor time, cooking, watching TV, etc. Within walking distance are cafes, museums, historical sites of interest, stylish shops, malls, good food at a variety of prices, clubs...
I never met Arzu, but I talked to her a few times on the phone. She is very kind and eager to help. We will go back to Istanbul and definitely try to book Arzu's apartment again.
Great. The view is the best in town. The neighborhood nice with secondhand shops and cafés. We will come back for sure.
Congenial delightful hosts.I felt as if I were staying at a friend's apartment.
The neighborhood is residential but active with places to eat, pastry shops and food shop if you care to eat in.
Arzu und Ihre Freunde waren sehr angenehme Gäste. Die Kommunikation mit Ihr war einfach und klar. Ich würde Arzu gerne wieder in unserem Apartment begrüßen. Vielen Dank.
Arzu's appartment is lcoated in a very nice neighbourhood. It's easy to reach everwhere either by foot or by metro. The view of the appartment is amazing.
