Cathy did a great job making us feel welcome-- we were a little late, but she showed us the apartment, and made sure we had all we needed. Because it was a cooler night than expected, she even provided us a little space heater to use. Nicest of all, she made us a delicious banana bread for the morning, complete with butter and fresh orange juice.
Though I slept wonderfully, my girlfriend (who is a notoriously light sleeper) did want me to note that the radiator's noises caught her off guard, and the room was a little too bright for her in the early morning. That being said, only use that as a gauge if, like her, you're high maintenance and need complete silence and darkness to get a good night sleep.
Overall, it was a very comfortable stay, made very special by Cathy's breakfast and the wonderful experience of waking up to the sounds of birds chirping.
The apartment was terrific for our short stay in Ithaca. The location is great and the host has the right balance between being available and letting us do our own thing. We look forward to staying there again!
My boyfriend and I stayed at Cathy's place for Valentine's Day weekend. She was extremely friendly and provided breakfast for us as well as chocolates! The property is just beautiful, the bathroom had everything you could possibly need, the kitchen had plenty of equipment to cook with. Cathy is a very friendly woman and made us feel as if we could ask for anything. We would absolutely return for a second stay.
Cathy was hospitable and welcoming. My girlfriend and I arrived mid afternoon and found a bowl of fresh fruit and fresh banana bread awaiting us. Orange juice and tea were also provided which made for a great breakfast the next morning. The studio is in a nice, bucolic setting but only about 5 minutes from town. We slept well and thoroughly enjoyed our time in Ithaca and the comfort of Cathy's studio.
We enjoyed our short stay at Cathy's studio—it is comfortable and well-appointed, in a lovely area just outside Ithaca and near Cornell. Cathy was a great host—she was able to accommodate us at the last minute and was very warm and helpful while we were there. Thanks!
Our stay at Cathy's studio was fabulous! Cathy made us feel very welcome and provided a great breakfast with muffins, fruit, OJ, and coffee and all the fix-ins. The place was very cozy and had plenty of extra blankets in case it got chilly. Cathy was very friendly and I had no doubt that if we needed help with something, she would be there to assist.
Cathy is very welcoming and the apartment is a great little space. I really enjoyed the stay.
Fresh flowers, fruit, morning coffee & muffins were in the room which had a lovely view of the meadow and forest. Peaceful and private with easy & quick access to downtown Ithaca and Moosewood Cafe. Safe, historic neighborhood. Clean, warm, spacious unit. So glad we found Cathy's Air B & B, our very first experience.
Thank you! Great ideas-both!
This is a little studio attached to the back of the owner's home. The property is conveniently located off 13A in a quiet setting yet close to town. We spent much of the time on campus with our daughter but found the studio to be clean and comfortable. There is a little kitchenette if you plan to eat in. Cathy had left delicious muffins, and all the fixings for breakfast/snacks. The unit itself is like spending time at Grandma's place- enamel sink and cabinets, original fixtures and Formica which was appealing to me.
Cathy was there to greet us and was kind and welcoming. She made herself available if we had any questions or problems. I would stay here again.
A perfect place for my weeklong stay in Ithaca. Wonderfully appointed with the right things for cooking, plenty of closet and dresser space to unpack. Muffins and fruit for the first morning were welcomed by this weary traveler. Cathy was very clear with instructions, and checked in a couple of times to check my needs. A beautiful view out the window, and just enough woods for a quick morning stroll. A car is a must for this location, with easy access to town and country both. Thanks to Cathy and Diane!
Cathy is a wonderful host; my family and I have stayed with her many times over the years. Her home is drop dead gorgeous, with many striking antiques, a long driveway, amidst rolling hills. Perfect for sledding in the winter, and picnicking in the summer. We've known each other since college, and she and her family are among the most precious prizes in our lives. you will love her, and your stay with them! I recommend her as a host and her home without reservation.
