Kata is a great host, friendly and helpful.
The apartment is large with high ceilings and a full kitchen.
Two double beds, so comfortable for up to 2 couples. Not fancy, an older walk-up (2 flights), but very workable. Location is excellent - the best authentic German deli in NY is downstairs, a very good supermarket is around the corner. Close to E River promenade
and Central Park/Museum Mile is a few blocks away. Good neighborhood for tourists who want to feel like New Yorkers. Easy subway trip to any other part of Manhattan.
Our experience was perfect. We had a red eye flight and got in early in the morning and Kata had no problem meeting us at 5am to get us settled in.
The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. Super comfy beds and pillows, clean sheets and towels and spacious living areas with cable tv and great wi fi connection.
The location was the best part: two blocks away from the subway stations, lots of good restaurants and bars, supermarket a block away, pharmacy next door, big chain shopping stores like Victoria Secret, H&M, Aldo, etc. and cute local shoppes as well.
She checked on us every couple of days to make sure we were ok and was always very helpful and accommodating.
Lovely apartment. Neat and clean with lots of light.
Very close to the subway station. Also lots of places to eat and shop within walking distance.
Kata was amazingly helpful. And we loved their little puppy Zepplin!
Would highly recommend this place.
We stayed for 12 days in Kata & Jeremy Schaller's appartment and it is a great place! The apt is old but excellent. Full privacy, spacious and confortable! The location is also great, near Central Park, supermarket, stores, subway and some of the NYC best museums. Kata is very helpfull, and also very kind - there was fresh fruits as a welcome reception! Should also say that Kata is always around and promptly answered all messages and requests. We really enjoyed and recomend!
We spent 13 days in Kata & Jeremy Schaller's appartment. It's spacious, clean and located near Central Park, a supermarket and subway (Line 4, 5 and 6).
Moreover the Best Cheesecake of New York City is just at the bottom of the building : "Two Little Red Hens". Finally, Kata is helpful and accommodating !
We deeply recommend this appartment !
We rented Kata and Jeremy's appartment for 10 days during Easter and had a really lovely time there. The appartment is conveniently located (close to subway and Central park) and everything you need is at hand (supermaket, bus stations, cinemas, restaurants...you name it). The appartment itself is comfortable and sufficiently equipped, with a certain old times' charm and sounds you get quickly used to. Kata is an extremely friendly and accomodating host, there was no problem leaving keys at the Heidelberg restaurant because we arrived late. We hope to come to New York again and would love to stay there.
We spent one full week in Kata's apartment and it was really nice ! the apartment is spacious, well equiped, large and good beds, and specialy well located, a few blocks from Central Park, 2 blocks from the metro and in a very pleasant area which is known as a former german area in NY, still a few german shops as Kata and Jeremy well known family business downstairs. the works on 2nd Av for the metro line are absolutely not a problem, it was even quiet in the evening and night, there is a Fairway Market food store 200 meters from the apartment, nice store, must try. Kata was easy to communicate with and very nice person, nice welcome, thank you to her, we had a really good week !!
I rented Kata and Jeremy's apartment for my parents who were visiting from France as it was just a couple of blocks from my place. They really appreciated their stay in the apartment which is very comfortable, perfectly clean and quiet.
Kata was a great host, she left cookies and other food items for them to use. A nice gesture! And she was very accommodating regarding the check-in and check-out and easy to communicate with.
My parents also really appreciated the fact that there was everything they needed to cook and have diner in the apartment (which was not the case in previous apartments we rented in NYC). It made their stay smoother.
We thoroughly enjoyed the snowy week in February that we spent at Kata & Jeremy’s place. They are excellent hosts – accessible, accommodating, generous, knowledgeable, but not intrusive. Kata went out of her way to accommodate our particular requests. Their place is a bit run down (tired around the edges) but has everything you need for a great stay on the Upper East Side. The flat is quiet, the bed is very comfortable, and the kitchen is sufficiently equipped. The Wifi is fast and there is basic cable; when we needed down time from the excitement of Manhattan we could watch the Sochi Olympics.
The place is very well located: subway #4, 5, & 6 is 2 blocks away, Museum mile and Central Park is a 10 minute walk away, grocery stores, restaurants, and delis surround. La Guardia is less than a $30 cab ride away.
We would definitely consider staying at Kata & Jeremy’s again next time we are in New York.
Good apartment, very roomy, good bed, wifi, TV, and it has a good location close to a supermarket.
We went there with a 1½ year old child, and it was not a problem.
The apartment could need a little finish: a nail sticking out, some loose tiles, no cover in front of the heat pipes, a little more plates and glasses, and then the floor is not even.
A good place to stay - and we felt safe the whole time, because the communication with the "landlords" were perfect!
Great tenant. Pleasure to work with. A+
