We are a young couple ( a kiwi and a New Yorker) living in the upper east side.
We thoroughly enjoyed the snowy week in February that we spent at Kata & Jeremy’s place. They are excellent hosts – accessible, accommodating, generous, knowledgeable, but not intrusive. Kata went out of her way to accommodate our particular requests. Their place is a bit run down (tired around the edges) but has everything you need for a great stay on the Upper East Side. The flat is quiet, the bed is very comfortable, and the kitchen is sufficiently equipped. The Wifi is fast and there is basic cable; when we needed down time from the excitement of Manhattan we could watch the Sochi Olympics.
The place is very well located: subway #4, 5, & 6 is 2 blocks away, Museum mile and Central Park is a 10 minute walk away, grocery stores, restaurants, and delis surround. La Guardia is less than a $30 cab ride away.
We would definitely consider staying at Kata & Jeremy’s again next time we are in New York.
Good apartment, very roomy, good bed, wifi, TV, and it has a good location close to a supermarket.
We went there with a 1½ year old child, and it was not a problem.
The apartment could need a little finish: a nail sticking out, some loose tiles, no cover in front of the heat pipes, a little more plates and glasses, and then the floor is not even.
A good place to stay - and we felt safe the whole time, because the communication with the "landlords" were perfect!
We loved this apartment, it was our home away from home for the 9 days we were in New York. Kata was lovely, and let us arrive at 8am, which was fantastic, as we needed a nap from our long haul flight. There was even a little gift basket waiting for us, and travel brochures and maps for thr city. The apartment was clean, warm, and we never heard the neighbors once. There is construction outside, but it never bothered us. The place is an older property, but that just gives it character. There is a supermarket 200m away, a great little bakery downstairs, and we had fantastic Italian at a restaurant called Uva, on 2nd ave between 77th and 78th I think. Overall our first airbnb experience was a great one!
hello from greece and this was my first time which i used airbnb for my holidays...and first stop katas apt...the apt was super, everything was perfect...hot flat, hot water for the winter, its located in a very nice place, near fairways to take anything you want..if i will visit ny next year i will stay there again...thanks kata!!!!
This 3 flight walk up apartment is nostalgic old style NY. It reminds me of the one I had rented in the 60's in The Village. It is roomy, neat, clean, serviceable, nicely furnished, fairly quiet, and in an excellent location. Carrying our luggage upstairs was not at issue as Jeremy kindly carried our luggage for us.
Even after making a NY day of it, the walk upstairs was not a problem. Buses and subways are close by as are many of the museums, the East river, and the magnificent Central Park.
I am an old New Yorker and now living in SoCal, so truly enjoyed my nostalgic experience of this place. My roommate is from Geneva, Switzerland, used to a very different style and she just loved our accommodations.
Aside from a broken blow up bed that caused the loss of a night's sleep, which was rectified quickly by the owners, I do recommend this apartment for all the reasons stated above.
I has the most amazing days at katas place, didn't had the chance to meet her but she emailed me very quick. I did meet Romey and she Was very kind
The apartment is as shown in pictures or better. Highly recommemd it
The apt. was great, clean, spacious and is situated in a perfect location with plenty of shops and good restaurants nearby.
I stayed at Kata's place for 10 days. Kata could'nt be there on my arrival but Ramey was very helpful. The communication from booking the place till checking out went very well and smooth.
Although there is a construction going on at 2nd Avenue however it did not bother me because during the day i was seldom at the apt. and the bedroom is very quiet facing a courtyard.
My husband and I spent 12 days in Kata and Jeremy's apartment. Kata was very helpful and accommodating. As the description states, the apartment is spacious and conveniently located...a 5 minute walk to the subway and to Fairway Grocery store, a 10 minute walk to the Met and Central Park. Except for the digging of a new subway line on 2nd Ave., the neighborhood is much calmer than the hustle and bustle of the East Village, Midtown, or Chelsea Market areas. The neighborhood has a variety of restaurants, bars and any other services that may be needed...a CVS and Duane Reader are close by. While the apartment was clean, the overall appearance of it was not eye-pleasing and the kitchen was minimal. There is no microwave, toaster, or coffee pot (we bought a French Press and left it at the apartment), and the oven would not light. The building is old, and the stairs are steep which may pose a problem when lugging suitcases up and down. However, with that being said, we enjoyed our stay.
Excellent location, very comfortable bed, friendly and accommodating hosts.
Great tenant. Pleasure to work with. A+
