Activist, lawyer, amateur photographer and avid reader. I moved to the East Village five years ago and have yet to lose my sense of wonder at the vibrancy, diversity, creativity and spontaneity of the area.

We had five lovely days in NYC recently. Ran's apartment was in a excellent location, a short walk to Greenwich village, close to subway stations giving us access to Midtown as well as Chinatown and Little Italy.
The apartment was roomy and adequate for a base in NYC. There was a mix up with apartment being ready on arrival. Ran was very available by phone to sort things out and compensated us for the loss of time waiting for the apartment to be cleaned and keys available. Overall the apartment was clean, older style with usual issues with old buildings.
Location is superb if you want to be close to all the restaurants. We were 10minutes walk from Astor Place subway and 2nd Avenue subway. So convenient. The apartment is spacious for 2 people with great amenities. There is a laundrette below so it is super easy to get the laundry done. It is a lovely area to stay in during our 2 week trip. Lots of restaurant choices in the East Village and SOHO and China Town are really close. I would say this place was the best choice for us in regards to location and price!
Ran was great at getting back to us on info and times of urgency! Although we didn't meet him in person he is friendly through correspondence. His cleaner was there to give us our keys and she was so friendly which makes a difference on the first day of your trip! Thank you to both!
We stayed in Ran's apt for 3 weekw (June -July). We've stayed at other apts in the east village, but this is the best one so far. I hope this apt will be available when we come back. The location is the best - eateries, markets, delis, laundry facilities (do it yourself machines one block away on 2nd st.). Astor metro stop is a 7 min. walk from the apt. The apt. is above street level with a fully stocked kitchen with lots of dishes, glasses and cooking utensils. The apartment was comfortable and spacious for 2 people. It also has a full sofa for a 3rd person. Lots of towels and sheets in drawers under the bed. A great place to come back to after an all day outing. Met Market (2nd and 6th) makes great deli sandwiches - pastrami was the best! Ran replied quickly to all our concerns and questions before and during our stay. Best regards.
Ran's apartment was everything we were looking for; an affordable, tidy, and comfortable place for us to 'live' in the East Village for a couple of days. The East Village location can't be beat, and we had a fantastic time! Thanks very much!
This is a great location for people between @18-30 years as there's lots of nightlife suitable for that age group. Plenty of restaurants around & you can actually get a good coffee from a couple of different places (most unusual in the USA from an Australian's perspective!). The apartment has everything you need to be comfortable however it's noisy late into the night & flooded with sunshine early in the morning so sleep ins are out of the question if you are a light sleeper. If you are a little bit older like us I suggest you find somewhere else to stay.
Ran’s place was great! Really accurate description of his place and indeed Charming! We were amazed at how close to everything the apartment was, and how nice the neighborhood was. For a first floor apartment, the street didn’t seem that noisy and we never had trouble falling asleep. The one comment we would have is that the ventilation in the apartment isn’t that great, but what place in NYC isn’t that stuffy? Other than that, we had a really enjoyable time and Ran was a fantastic host - super prompt in responding to questions and both very clear and flexible for check-in and check-out. I’d definitely recommend staying at his place!
Great place, clean, spacious, perfect location - and very important after walking trough NY all day: a good shower and bed.
Spacious and very well placed flat, in a district of Manhattan alive and pleasant. Furthermore, Ran is a very good host!
As everyone said, the apartment is very well located. It is close to many restaurants and bars, and the location is really convenient to reach other neighborhoods by walking or taking the subway !
We had a wonderful time there, and we would definitely recommend the apartment.
Ran was a great guest who I would recommend.
Amazing host. Great apartment, very centrally and conveniently located. Fantastic cooking kitchen as well! It is always my go to spot on my trips to NYC.
