Eric responded quickly to my inquiry about renting the house. He also put us in touch with the manager on site, Marq, who showed us the ropes on arrival and was incredibly helpful throughout the stay . Three of us wanted an off site option in the area for the 200 hour teacher certification at the Nosara Yoga Institute. This house was perfect for a four week stay as we were able to share cooking duty in the well equipped kitchen (blender and rice maker MADE our trip!), two baths, a/c in bedrooms, wifi, and the washer/dryer for our super sweaty clothes were crucial. We spent most of our free time on the porch, complete with custom wood table/chairs a hammock, and a quiet, jungle setting. There's a fair amount of construction going on in the area as it's growing, and Eric was candid with us as to whether anything nearby would affect our stay. He was straight with us about what was going on at the moment, so we felt informed, which was refreshing. It was truly relaxing and our little home away from home. It sits on a corner off the town road to main entrance of playa guiones, and about a 12-15 minute walk each way to the yoga institute. This is something to consider for people who wouldn't want the extra walk on a limited time schedule, but overall it was only a couple extra minutes from the jungle trail which we really enjoyed. It became a nice meditative walk especially early in the morning when it was just us and the animals:) While theft is an issue in all over the country, we appreciated the heads up and reminder from the property manager to keep valuables on us and always secure the house when we left. We did, and had no issues. The fact that both Eric and Marq were up front about these things (not the case with some other options i had looked into) was part of the reason we decided to book this house. It was great to be so close to town and the beach as well for taking a quick trip to the farmers market or going for a swim. i would recommend this house for anyone on retreats, friends, and families. For students at nyi who are open to sharing space and cost for a more local experience, there are other (much more affordable) options than the Bodhi Tree onsite. Find out who's in your class in advance to connect on facebook before your trip. Several times throughout the trip, we commented on how neat an experience it was to be sharing this house together for our time there. In addition to an amazing and transformational yoga course in a magical place like Nosara, the three of us had gone from not knowing each other at all before the trip, to becoming great friends, and Casa Raz provided the space to make it happen! Big Love to Eric and...
Nice big house, great location in Nosara. Minutes from the beach. Only downside was the actual booking as the owner Eric does not reside in Nosara and so communication was slow and so the reservation was only confirmed at the last minute. Overall good value for the price.
