We live on whidbey Island. Misha is a nurse, I'm a mental health counselor.
Mark and Misha were great hosts! I contacted Mark less than 24 hours after we were hoping to check in, and he responded almost immediately - what a fantastic first impression! There was an extra-long wait for the ferry from Mukilteo to Whidbey Island, and Mark was very accommodating when we had to push our check-in time back by a couple hours. When we arrived, Mark led us into the HUGE suite - the description and pictures simply do not do the space justice. The photo of the bedroom only shows about half of the room - it is much larger than it appears. While some might describe the room as "rustic", the amenities make the space very comfortable - 2 sinks, a microwave, television, sliding doors onto the deck, video games, a comfy chair, a chaise lounge, a computer that guests can use, good wifi, etc. The bathroom was a bit dark, but overall everything felt very homey. The rest of the house was also very welcoming and had fun details, like a loft bedroom and another lovely deck. After a good night's rest, we found a lovely breakfast of fresh berries, melon, cereal, & breakfast bars waiting for us in the kitchen. We are so glad that we stayed with Mark and Misha - their home is a serious value and we'll think of them the next time we're heading out to the island.
