Stayed with Alex for the month of June and was perfect. She was very hospitable and it felt like home immediately. Lovely apartment on the top floor of this gorgeous building in this very peaceful yet central area. Great views and a lovely terrace to hang out in. Alex was good company, always giving tips of what to do in Berlin but who respected your privacy. The bedroom was very big with a nice desk and bed. Made my Berlin trip very nice and will definitely be looking forward to going back!
I was hosted by Alex for several weeks this summer and I could not have asked for a better experience. The apartment is tucked away on a quiet side street in a homey neighborhood with all the amenities I needed for an extended stay—several nearby grocery stories, a bank branch on the corner, restaurants and cafes, bakeries, a dry cleaner across the street, and a tram stop just a half block away. The apartment itself is beautiful and sunny with a lovely balcony affording a rooftop view of neighboring apartments and the TV tower. As a hostess, Alex was always friendly and accommodating. And you'll have a hard time finding someone who knows more about the club and culture scene anywhere in the city. The room I rented is spacious, with a pull-out sofabed, large desk, and ample shelves for storing clothing. One consideration for some guests: As with most older Berlin apartments, there is no elevator, so expect to get some exercise when ascending the stairs. This was not a problem for me, however. I would certainly stay with Alex again on my next trip if the room is available.
Charming apartment and great host who will show you great places in Berlin and provide you of lots of inside information of the city. She will point you to the nicest flee markets and best party/dining places in town. Before booking, you might want to check with her if she is expecting some visits during your stay to avoid surprises or additional guests in the living room. As of the rest, expect to be treated very well and to hear great stories.
Alex is a wonderful host that not only opens up her heart but her home. Convenient location to the tram stop that will take you downtown...
If you're looking for hospitality, a nice room in a treelined neighborhoood that is a quick tram ride away from the main sight seeing locations, this is a great place! Alex was very welcoming and opened not just her home but her heart as well.
My husband and I stayed with Alex for a month and she's the most hospitable and accommodating host you could wish for. Alex provided us with great insider tips for our stay. She has a vast knowledge of Berlin night life and she's also got some great tips on where to shop and eat out.
The flat is located in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin's most in demand area. The Flat is amazing, nice and spacious and very clean. We had unrestricted use of the communal areas, like the living room and kitchen dining area as well as the lovely roof top balcony on which we spent many a night having a drink and a chat. The room itself has a very descent size and the comfy sofa bed is big enough for two.
I've stayed with Aleks for 10 days and i totally recommend her apartment as a first-rate place to stay when visiting Berlin.
Not only because the apartment is very nice, conveniently located and has a great view (from one of the best balconies in Berlin); but also because Aleks is a great host, friendly and good-humoured.
