Hi! I have lived in Reno for the past many years. I am 51, I have owned and managed a residential cleaning service forever!! In the down time I am usually busy doing some "art' project. I am into fused glass, and home remodel projects.

We greatly appreciated our hostess’s warm welcome and we immediately felt at home in her delightful house. Alyce thoughtfully provided a “welcome basket” with wine and popcorn, which we enjoyed in her beautiful garden. The house was as described, an “artsy diggs” whose imaginative décor immediately appealed to us. Everything was there for our comfort, from two bicycles, complete with lock, for cycling along the Truckee river bank, to a gas-fired barbecue for outdoor entertaining. The location in Reno’s “old North-West” was perfect for us, a quiet residential area of family houses close to downtown Reno with a pleasant public park and convenience stores nearby and with easy access to the I-80 highway. We had an excellent stay in Reno, thanks to Alyce's generosity in allowing us to stay in her home, and we certainly hope to be able to return before too long.
The house is really unique in its design and very comfortable and homey. The shower especially is a work of art. The kitchen facilities are more than adequate. Unfortunately, there is no a/c and it was very hot even with fans blowing and windows open.
Eclectic and wonderful place to stay! The decor is Southwest with lots of colorful and whimsical touches. We walked to the Truckee River, and the park. We ate on the Riverwalk at the Wild River Grill. We highly recommend it! We would recommend Alyce's house to anyone who wants to avoid the casino experience. The location of her house was perfect for seeing more of the "real" Reno.
My husband and I both enjoyed our stay at the Executive Parkside Retreat over the Thanksgiving break! The house was beautiful, and it was evident that Alyce has poured her heart and soul into turning her home into a wonderful, romantic experience! The house was very inviting, had a fully stocked kitchen, and was extremely clean, which is the first thing we check for as our two dogs love to eat whatever food they can find on the floor (the good news is that there wasn't any!). Alyce even made us a homemade apple pie and left some treats for our bichon frises! The location was perfect for us, being that it was just a short walk to Idlewild Park and the Truckee River where we walked the dogs every morning, and a short drive to the Casinos, where we played every night! We will definitely be back for another stay!
My friends and I traveled to Reno for the Tour de Nez and had the pleasure of renting and staying in Alyce's parkside retreat. Alyce was wonderful; she was flexible with our arrival and departure times, and even left us a pitcher of sun tea on the back patio to enjoy! The house was perfect for two couples with king size beds, plenty of privacy and full of ecclectic charm. It is a beautiful peaceful space right on the Truckee River and just a short 15 minute walk to central Reno. It's perfect for your summer or winter trip to the Reno/Tahoe area!
This eclectic home is detailed with an artist touch in every room. The wooden inlaid floors done with the owners own hands are the foundation of this gem palace. The bathrooms are exqusite works of mosaic, tile and gems that make you want to stay longer. Beautiful mahogany wood frames many of the windows and the charm and beauty have a good positive energy. This home sits quietly in an established neighborhood close to Idlewild Park and downtown Reno. This adorable home would be an "experience" for anyone who rents it. Alot of craftmanship and artistry went into this gorgeous home. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for something unique and beautiful.
