We're Alex and Hannah, from Venice California. Upon your booking, we'll turn you over to our local agent in Princeville, who will manage your stay professionally. We make great memories when we're there--hope you do too!
I was horrified when the guest contacted me upon arrival with claims of mold and pet urine of all things (there was no previous pet or urine or mold). Our agent did a great job of responding immediately. Turns out housekeeping missed moldy oven mitts in a kitchen drawer, left by a previous guest, which were promptly removed, unit inspected etc. This fact really bugged me--our agent's housekeeping staff is terrific, but this one mistake in their usual very thorough check set a negative tone that the guest just couldn't get over. Any unit in the tropics may be musty when windows are closed between guests. Typically you get a pleasant cross flow an hour or two upon arrival. And only windows without eave protection should be closed during rain, which leaves most windows open 24/7. We have hosted visitors since 2006 (newer to this airbnb site) and have never had an issue. Furthermore, our agent will not rent our unit or any other unless it is perfect for guests. This guest was gracious throughout this ordeal, but I can't help thinking they never got over the moldy mitts, were very sensitive to the lack of A/C and nothing done was going to remedy this situation, not until they moved to another unit. Our unit does not have mold (and this is the one comment I resent being made). A very serious accusation which is not substantiated.
