I had a great experience staying here. Sam was great in letting me know all of the details prior to my arrival. The room was spacious and quiet, the bed was quite comfortable, and the overall area was nice. Parking was a breeze (permit required, but Sam provides you with one). Bathroom was adjacent to room and was clean and spacious. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone needing a room near San Jose State University or the surrounding area as it is easily within walking distance to many places.
This was my first Airbnb experience. Sam was easy to contact and talk to, but I didn't see her while I stayed there, which is fine with me since I was gone most of the day. Overall Sam's place was clean and in a good location. I would stay here again. Thanks Sam!
Staying with Sam and her family was fantastic. She made everything easily accessible and it seemed like a mini retreat for me in a great central location of San Jose.
It was great again!
very nice place to stay. Very luxury. Like four star hotel:) Nice host:)
When I arrived at Sam's place, the previous guests were still there, well after their required check-out. It was awkward to have to wait hours for them to leave. The upstairs room was clean, but very warm - there was a small desk fan, but it did little to make the room comfortable on a 90+ degree summer day. On the first night, I came home at 10:30 and could not get in with the code Same gave me. After some phone calls, I was told the code had been changed, but no one had bothered to tell me. I was very upset and confused, and even though Sam "apologized for the inconvenience" (never explaining what had happened or why), I spent the rest of my stay worried that would happen again. I will say the room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was comfortable. There is no dresser, and the closet was filled with storage, so I just kept everything in my suitcase. The home is very close to the Convention Center, which was convenient. But it's also one of the only residential spots on its block, with an empty lot across the street, a tire center and lot next door, what looks like an abandoned (boarded up, graffiti-ed) house to the back and economy car lot on the other side. I didn't ever feel in danger, but was not comfortable walking alone from the Convention Center at night by myself, and was glad the home is behind the locked gate. The conference I attended provided activities and meals, so I mainly just used Sam's house for a room. Although the room and bathroom are completely adequate, I would probably not stay here again, just because of the instances of confusion and mis-communication.
The place was close to the train station which was very important for me. I guess you could even walk there but I took taxi and it was around $7-8 (without tips). The place was very comfortable and Sam was very welcoming.
The room is very well located, walking distance from downtown and the apartment complex is safe. It is quite accessible by public transport. My stay was comfortable and place was clean and quiet. Recommend this place!
Really nice place and people. I went to the convention center for a conference and the location of the house was super convenient-- within 5 minutes walk.
Sam was very nice to me as a new & first comer to America. She and I toured around downtown through walking, through which she helped release most of my anxiety and offered me many advises on traffic, food and shopping.
Her uncle and untie are also very nice people. It was because of Sam and them that I could live like a local people very soon as I arrived there. Will definitely contact them next time I came to San Jose, and thanks to Airbnb for this wise choice.
Great place and location. Sam and her family are very friendly and helpful. Very nice place, will definitely try to go back in case of visiting San Jose.
Sam and her parents were really nice guests and a pleasure to host
Sam and her friends only stayed one night but everything went well with good communication prior to check in and after and the room was left in good shape. If you get a chance, host Sam!
Sam Das was a pleasure to have as a guest. She was so sweet and quiet. It was a short stay so I didn't have a chance to chat over tea but she was clean, quiet and courteous. I highly recommend Sam as a guest on airbnb.
