This is Alec. I'm from upstate NY, living in the city, working in the restaurant world. I play in a band part time, and I love walking around the city whenever I can.

Although we didn't meet Alec everything worked out really well during our stay. He helped us with all our questions and both check in and check out went smoothly. We really enjoyed our stay in NY. The apartment filled all our needs and it was clean and cozy. The location of the apartment was also good, just a few blocks from Central Park. We highly recommend Alec and his apartment if you want a good place to stay at when visiting New York!
The apartment was all we espected from it! It is warm and cosy and it had a lovely bed! It made us feel like real Locals to sleep over there and do stuff in the neighborhood and ofcourse the rest of NY!! We loved it!
I highly recommend staying at Alec's apartment if you are looking for a cozy place in the upper east side. It's located in a quiet and safe neighborhood, walking distance to Central Park and the subway. The place has an amazing sound system with a speaker even in the bathroom! Lots of essentials to make your stay enjoyable.
Prior to even getting to the apartment, Alec was extremely helpful and ensuring we had all the information we needed. Upon arriving, there was a detailed information binder on the desk with a map included which we found very useful. It had included information such as coffee and restaurant recommendations all the way through to how to turn on Netflix.
The apartment is great for a couple and is across the street from the pharmacy which has majority of the basics you need and it's a short walk to Central Park. There aren't any elevators but thought this worked to our advantage knowing that we'd burn off some of the calories consumed during our trip to the US.
Thanks again Alec!
We absolutely loved the apartment, clean, comfortable and perfectly situated. Would recommend to everyone. Communication was brilliant too. A fantastic break in NYC.
My stay at Alec's apartment was comfortable, cozy and nice. The apartment is small, but totally fine for 2 people / a couple. It provides a comfortable bed, a cozy livingroom (equipped with tv, dvd player and dvds). The kitchen also provides everything you need. Only the bathroom is really small. Plus, there is no elevator although the apartment is in the 6th floor, and there is no heating system in the apartment (however Alec provided a small manually operating heater, at least).
The apartment is located some blocks from the central park, and right around the corner you can find many shops / cafes / restaurants. You can do everything by walking. Though, if you need a subway station, you have to walk some blocks, too.
All in all it was a nice stay, and Alec a really friendly, flexible and reliable host. He waited for us in the apartment, and he showed us all the important things we have to know.
Great place and Alec was great to answer a bunch of questions. It's not a sleeper sofa in the living room, but the couch is sleepable. The walk up 5 flights from 1st to 6th is not bad at all. Lots of places for eats and drink nearby. We took advantage of proximity to Roosevelt Island tram and went over there where there are no cars, just the hum of the city across the river. The subway is a few avenues over. Apartment is quiet - I think it's the top floor and very little car or siren noise if any at all somehow. I'd stay again!
We visited NYC for 5 days at Christmas, and we found this apartment perfect! Alec, our host, gave us excellent restaurant recommendations the apartment was clean and tidy, and he made our arrival and departure simple and easy. This place is perfectly located for easy access to the Met Opera, Broadway shows, and Central Park. We saw 5 shows in 5 days including Aida at the Met, and we felt like this was a perfect abode for our show tour of NYC.
We would definitely stay here again!
Typical apartment in a convenient location for its subway access to major spots as well as for its great choice of restaurants. Alec was responsive and helpfull.
It was very easy to host Alec, very nice couple and would love to have them return. Very polite and considerate - took very good care of our studio.
