Wonderful, cute place to stay. A little outside the hubbub of the city so nice and quite. Bus to Union Station to ride Metro or trains is convenient to catch. Marissa & Sigis are right next door if you need anything. Being a West coaster we are use to central heat & air, upon arrival we were hit with humidity and only window air units to cool the apartment. They work great! Cooled the place in no time and very comfortable throughout our stay.
This is a great apartment and the hosts were super responsive.
The apartment is clean and well laid out. The pictures are very true to the actual experience. The technology is great too -- great wifi, Netflix, Hulu and cable. I was looking for a longer-term stay and found it difficult to find a place, this place was great. The hosts live downstairs from the apartment, so it was very convenient whenever I needed anything.
I would say that the apartment is great for someone who doesn't need to be on the doorstep of the monuments or downtown. The location is not walking distance to the National Mall or anything like that, but the H Street area is very cool with lots of really great restaurants, bars, Jazz places, etc. It's a real gem of a location. If you need to get downtown the X2 bus is quite convenient. You can also join the DC bike share -- there are several bike stations within a few blocks of the place. Zipcar and Car2Go are very convenient for the area too.
We had a great time in Washington DC!!! Unfortunately it rained the first 3 days but the flat is sooo nice, clean, big, fancy and comfortable that this was no problem at all :)
Marissa always answered my questions right away and was very nice! We would definitely come back here! Thank you Marissa! :)
This is a great little place! The neighborhood has a lot of wonderful restaurants: Ethiopian, French, Asian, etc.
Très bel appartement très bien équipé et au calme ,dans un quartier charmant de Washington ,près d'une rue avec toutes les commodités .Nous avons passés un séjour très agréable.
We had a fantastic trip to our nation's capital and we'd happily at Marissa & Sigis's apartment again. The apartment itself is quiet, well equipped and comfortable. Nearby H Street offers some delicious restaurants, bar and coffee shops and the H Street bus provides easy access to other areas of the city. Union station is about a 15 minute walk and you can get just about anywhere in the city from there.
What a great place for the price. Close to everything. The owners were awesome .
Marissa and Sigis are fantastic! Anything I needed they were easy to contact and could be over to help within minutes. I rented their place for just over a month while my apartment was being built and it had everything I needed to feel at home and start to get settled into DC. The location is great and close to bus stops and walking distance to Eastern Market and the Capitol Hill area. I would certainly rent from them again.
Marissa & Sigis were great hosts - not only did they welcome our dog but they were prompt to respond to any request we had during our stay. The upstairs flat in their row house is nicely appointed. It's situated on a quiet, neighborly street in the Atlas District. If you're lucky as we were to be there for Halloween, you might enjoy a block party and zillions of trick-or-treaters as we did! There are several great restaurants and bars steps away on H Street (we were regulars at Queen Vic and Toki Underground). We also enjoyed walking to the Capitol building from the apartment. Our only wish is that more of H Street NE was gentrified but with the new streetcars coming, it's probably only a matter of time.
Very nice, spacious apartment and great communication with the hosts - they were super helpful with all our questions! We were here for a couple of days to see the sites. Would recommend this place!
Marissa and her family were wonderful guests! Marissa was very responsive with communication and the cottage was left in perfect condition. I would love to have them back as guests anytime.
Marissa and her husband left the apartment spotless. Although I didn't get to speak to them as I was really busy at work this week, Milton talked to them and it seemed as though they had a great time at the beach, visiting friends and being a tourist.
Marissa was very thoughtful to plan in advance to have our Guest Room on Capitol Hill available for her friend for the weekend of a big soccer game here in DC. Everything worked out nicely and we enjoyed getting to know her and her friend briefly between their busy schedules.
