Eric and Gemma were such kind hosts. Even before we had secured the booking Eric was very communicative every step of the way. When we arrive at Barcelona airport our bags were delayed by almost 2 hours and Gemma was on text and completely responsive. The flat is located literally a stone's throw from a beautiful beach, and a few minutes walk to the train station which zipped us into Barcelona within 20 minutes! The beauty of this flat was that it is located in a really cute town populated by local families and cute shops from gourmet delis to boutique clothing and shoe shops. Also one of the BEST sushi restaurants we have ever eaten in (Nami). Within walking distance there is everything you need for a self-contained holiday, and a bunch of really lovely parks and playgrounds for the kids, ice cream stalls, bakeries, supermarkets, and more. Illa Fantasia (where we spent two days having fun at the waterpark) is literally one train stop away and then a free shuttle bus. 30 minutes door-to-door MAX.
The flat itself was beautifully presented, very clean, and air conditioned. Great wi-fi, a widescreen TV, a hot shower, a dishwasher, and a washing machine out in the terrace. The place is very child friendly and comfortable. There are two bedrooms (1 double bed, 1 twin room) as well as a couch/double-bed futon in the main area. We are a family of 5 and were perfectly at home and at ease.
We met with both Eric and Gemma, who were incredibly friendly, advised us when needed, and provided us with beach gear and towels and even some toys for the kids. Really lovely hosts. Thanks to you both for such a wonderful, hassle-free stay. You were right about not renting a car (thank you!), and we took the train back to the airport (rather than a taxi) and, you're right, it was a breeze and cost us 12 euros in total (compared to the 100 euros by car on the way in)!
Eric is a nice person. We were stuck in a traffic jam on a highway on the day of arrival and Eric was so kind to keep waiting for us for another few hours, even though he was supposed to join his family in the country house. Eric gave us all good instructions about the neighbourhood.
