I am an artist and science educator specializing in interdisciplinary and sustainability education and have have lived in Ithaca for 20+ years. I designed, authored, and originated the Cayuga Basin Bioregion Map ((SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) it if interested).
I also work part-time for the local school district and am transitioning to become a full-time artist/author/illustrator for children's books. Now that my kids are grown, my home has evolved into a dynamic international guest house. I am a world-traveler and enjoy giving back the hospitality I was given. I enjoy hosting visiting scholars and people who come for special programs in music at Ithaca College and legal/hospitality/ veterinary at Cornell, courses at Namgyal Monastery, and local herbal/medicinal trainings. In the summer, I host many tourists from NYC, Canada, and abroad.
In my free time, I love to social dance (tango, swing, zydeco) and am an avid bird watcher. If you are curious about birds, let me know if you want to join me on an outing or even the back yard! I always keep an extra pair of binoculars and love to share my passion for birds! I also garden using permaculture design, meditate, practice yoga, and try to be kind at all times and generous when I can. I have traveled widely and enjoy meeting people from all over the world and learning about their lives and perspectives. I believe we are all one and treat my guests like family. If I am cooking (more so in the fall and winter than other times), I usually double the recipe and share. I look forward to meeting you!
