We loved the apartment -- it was clean, cozy, and close to the historic downtown. Thanks to BC for hosting us!
Response from B.C.:
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay here- Kingston is a great little town! and we're happy you found us. Hope to see you again. BC
Cute, laid-back neighborhood and a charming apartment.
Response from B.C.:
Thanks for staying with us. Glad you enjoyed the area- there is so much to see and do here. Hopefully you'll have a chance to come back to visit Kingston again.
We had a very nice stay at BC and Larry's apartment for our first visit to Kingston, and appreciate their kind hospitality. It was quiet, comfortable and had everything we needed, including coffee, towels, TV, and a binder with LOTS of information about visiting Kingston and things to do in the area. We enjoyed strolling around the quiet Rondout area of town where the apt is, but used our car to drive about 10 min. to the Stockade district, which we found to have more to do and choose from (restaurants, bars, cafés, galleries), including lots of history and a farmer's market on the weekend. I recommend BC's place highly, it was a very enjoyable and easy experience.
Response from B.C.:
We're very happy you enjoyed visiting Kingston, both the Rondout and the Stockade districts. It was a pleasure hosting you for the weekend and we hope to see you again.
Lovely rooms, great location. Perfect place to stay while visiting the family nearby. Would gladly stay again.
The reservation was canceled 36 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We stayed in an apartment at the Rondout Inn that was newly renovated, and absolutely immaculate. Antique and vintage items were a touch that we particularly appreciated.
BC and Larry were welcoming and extremely helpful throughout our stay. They recommended wonderful places to eat, and helped us navigate planning and parking, especially important since it was 1) Labor Day weekend, 2) Second Saturday, and 3) the neighborhood's popular Irish festival on our departure day.
We would love to stay there again, should our travels bring us to Kingston once more.
BC and Larry are terrific hosts and their pied-a-terre in Kingston is, quite simply, awesome. It was absolutely spotlessly clean, and the kitchen and bath are both almost brand-new and really nice. The decor is lovely and THE BED. THE BED IS AWESOME. The bed is so comfy I almost didn't want to leave it! Lots of nice extra touches like really especially cushy towels (and lots of them), nice toiletries, coffee and tea stocked, lots of ice in the freezer, local reading materials. There's a nice big tv with cable, and the living room is really comfy.
I forgot an article of clothing and they contacted me and offered to send it before I'd even noticed I'd forgotten it!
The 'hood is charming--a really nice selection of restaurants in walking distance. Parking is easy.
The Hudson Valley is lovely and the Rondout Inn was the perfect base camp for exploring. I can't wait to go back and I hope to stay at the Rondout Inn again!
The Rondout Inn is a great location, within walking distance to several restaurants and the scenic Rondout Creek. The apartment is well-appointed and recently remodeled, so everything is new (except the decorative antiques!). BC and Larry were fine hosts, always available and frequently seen on the street, talking with neighbors. It is clear they are active in this neighborhood, which is experiencing a resurgence. Would definitely stay here again.
B.C. Gee & her partner Larry were wonderful hosts. They have a gorgeous B&B in Kingston, just minutes walk from the historic waterfront. We loved our room - but really, it's more like a full-scale apartment. Complete with a working kitchen, extremely comfortable queen size bed, and a cozy yet specious living room, which also has a queen size futon bed, their place is a real gem. Less than 5 minutes walk from several restaurants, bars, and a really cute coffee shop, with street parking right outside, we would definitely recommend their place to anyone visiting Kingston. They also own a really kool thrift store (their B&B is above it). Upon our arrival, B.C. & Larry greeted us and showed us around their own artist workspace, and opened a nice bottle of wine to welcome us. They told us a bit about their place, and Kingston in general, giving us some great inside info on things to do and places to see in the area. THANKS GUYS - see you on our weekend trip to Kingston.
B.C. and Larry are terrific hosts and great conversationalists! I met them when my boyfriend and I wanted to get away from NYC for a night during the weekend and chose B.C. and Larry's Inn as our destination. Upon our arrival we were invited in for a glass of wine as well as an engaging chat about our experiences as hosts. There was a lot to talk about as this duo is very accomplished in various industry's. B.C. and Larry recommended a variety of places to eat and we were so hungry we said yes to them all! Our suite was something out of a fairy tale complete with a 4 poster bed fit for Sleeping Beauty! Everything we could have wanted for the night was available to us in our suite....tea, handmade soap, nice shampoo and conditioner (yes I am a girlie girl). I made some peppermint tea for me and my boyfriend though he was already fast asleep in our 4 poster bed. So I drank both cups of tea and indulged in a bit of reading from some carefully chosen books tucked neatly into the corner of the vintage writer's desk. I wanted to use everything.....the dishes, all the towels, even the cream that was left for our morning coffee. But since we ended up getting a late start the next morning (probably due to the bed being so comfy) we didn't get to use the coffeemaker or the cream.... I would love to have my friends check this place out. The location and the comforts are too good to be true!.
