My family and I just had a wonderful stay at the Woodshill Farmhouse and it is exactly as listed and as wonderful as the many previous reviews state. We have used airbnb and (website hidden) several times in the US as well as Europe and have always had good experiences. However, this particular one stood above the others.
The welcome home-baked bread, bottle of wine, and the refrigerator and cupboard stocked with the necessities made our arrival great. The spacious, well appointed kitchen was great and served our needs well. Unlike hotel options, we had plenty of space to relax, get away, and even room to entertain one evening. We were four adults plus a 2 year old and it could not have worked out better.
We highly recommend staying at this delightful home and farm. Don't hesitate - unless of course our family wants to return on the same days as you are considering! :)
Though we were there in the coldest days of the winter, the place made us feel warm. The house was clean and well equipped, and we felt very comfortable there. It was a surprise that we found a loaf of delicious pound cake (still warm), a bottle of wine and a box of chocolate when we arrived on Valentine's Day. Mary invited us to visit the new born baby lambs, and it was an amazing experience.
I cannot say enough good things about the Woodshill Farmhouse. Andrew and his family were wonderful to work with: very responsive, polite, and great hosts. The farmhouse is absolutely beautiful, especially the large, gourmet kitchen. Overall, its bright and roomy, which is always a plus. When I first arrived, I was greeted by some homemade treats on the kitchen table and some wonderful treats in the fridge, as well. I highly recommend this farmhouse!
This was our second time staying at the Woodshill Farmhouse and it gets better and better! We loved visiting the sheep and donkey, and, since the weather was unseasonably warm, we enjoyed the large yard.
My favorite place in this house is the large kitchen with its long table which is a perfect gathering place for family and friends stopping by. Mary made us a delicious bread and left us truffles and wine which we all enjoyed. We have highly recommended this place to our friends and family in the area. We would love to stay here again!
Other than the heavy snowfall upon our arrival the only other surprises were delightful. The cranberry bread that Mary left for us was excellent. The house was very clean and it was supplied better than most. We felt at home and comfortable during our stay. All beds were comfortable. We had a few daytime guests and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and enjoy conversation. I especially liked that there was enough coat hooks for everyone. The mud room/porch was large enough to store boots and other items that needed to stay cool. We hope to return in the future.
My two sisters and I loved staying at the Woodshill Farmhouse and only wish we'd had an excuse to stay longer. The house is roomy yet cozy, clean and filled with light. You will find everything you need, including an eclectic library with something for everyone. Yet, the house is soothingly simple and uncluttered. A few inches of snow had fallen the night we arrived, so maybe that contributed to my sense of well-being and the wonderful light in the upstairs rooms. A tasty loaf of pumpkin bread was waiting for us on the table, as well as a bottle of wine. We brought food to cook, but most of the "essentials" were there to fill in - olive oil and seasonings in the cupboard, half and half in the refrigerator, etc. I highly recommend the Wilcox family's farmhouse as a quiet and relaxing place to spend a few days. You'll feel at home immediately.
This was our best airbnb experience yet! We were in town for Colgate's parent's weekend. Andrew was super easy to communicate with. The house was so comfortable, clean and pleasant to stay in. The beautiful farmland surroundings are idyllic! Corn fields, sheep and donkey to view out the kitchen windows. The kitchen was well appointed and allowed me to cook homemade dinners for our homesick daughter in college. We would definitely come back for other college events or even for a regular vacation! Thanks again Andrew!
The farmhouse was perfect for our weekend. Although we didn't spend much time there we certainly could have as it nicely appointed and has everything one needs to spend more time there. Fresh baked pumpkin bread and and a bottle of red wine waiting for us when we got there - how nice. Rural setting and about 15 minutes from Clinton. Looking forward to next visit. Thanks Andrew and Mary.
The Wilcox farm is very beautiful. We admired the paintings on the wall. The hpuse is very confortable and Mary's blueberry muffins taste very well.
