What a Gem. Raewyn and Charles are the perfect hosts. The house and settings are the best we have ever stayed in. Quiet, secure and clean. The neighbors are friendly and with two local shops and a supermarket, a short walk or bus ride away. Met at the airport and felt like family from the first meeting. Sorry to have to leave. One has to ask oneself would you stay again. Without a second thought. I would be back tomorrow. Best wishes to Raewyn and Charles and once again thanks.

Charlie and Raewyn are home from home. The accommodation is clean, spacious, set in a gorgeous, peaceful garden with a refreshing pool. It is such a relief after long, hot days in Bangkok to get 'home', where you don't really feel like you are in a city at all.
C and R are so helpful, and welcoming, they are born hosts and it really shows that they love their work. They were really helpful with us, offering lifts, sorting out shipping, helping with storage, laying on food and get togethers for the guests.
I really couldn't recommend them high enough - if you are looking for affordable, peaceful, welcoming accommodation in spitting distance of Bangkok city then look no further - home awaits you!
Raewyn and hẻr husband Charlie have been helpful and good fun. Charlie even decorated hís windmill with lights for Christmas. The garden where the cottages are situated ís lovely. With squirrels and all. It ís a bit òf way from the center of the city but then again you appreciate the calm when you come back to the garden.
Raewyn and Charlie are very-very (and 100 times again) nice people! Communicative, positive and attentive persons. We had everything we need (as we travel with 4 month baby and small doggy, you can imagine how much we need!).
House is bigger and better than you can see on photos, it's fully equipped and very cozy. There are swimming pool, gym, billiards. A lot of trees, flowers, small channels, fresh air, birds songs... You may forget that you're somewhere in the city!
The place is quite far from Bkk center, need to use bus and mtr or take a taxi. There is a big supermarket (for food, consumer, medicine etc.) abt.2 km from the house and some small shops (some drinks and snacks) are near the house.
If you travel with family and looking for a quite place for relaxed and comfortable life, choose Raewyn's house!
Baan Suan Samatluk is the nicest place I have stayed at in my many years of travelling.
"Peace and tranquility" does not describe this place fully,it should also add warmth, affection, and love that Raewyn and Charlie show during your time there.
Other factors that add to the enjoyment of staying with them is they introduce you to their extended family who come to visit or are already staying in the property.
Also the local people,be it street vendors,or mini market owners and locals who live nearby who greet you with their beautiful smiles and make you feel very welcome.
I will add the area is very safe even if you arrive there in the early hours of the morning...
I came to "Baan Suan Samatluck" as a stranger but departed feeling I was part of the family"
Thank you so much guy's,I will never forget you..............
Since I should keep this place secret from the world I should write the worst possible review I could imagine, but my conscience will not allow me to say anything negative. Our host were extremely gracious and our accommodations were excellent. There property is a perfect slice of paradise just outside of downtown Bangkok. We really had to push ourselves to leave it and go explore the sights of the city. We originally booked for 1 week and extended our stay for another 1 1/2 weeks and will book it again for the month of March. Finding this place was the best possible luck in all of our travels. I have never said, "thank you for letting me stay here, it has been a real privilege" before but, " THANK YOU FOR LETTING US STAY HERE". Not only has it been a privilege but it has been a honor to know you.
Bob & Jennifer:
Thank you so much to both of you Raewyn and Charlie for your so Nice and warm welcoming! We loved our stay at your house for the first week of our thaï trip. This is a perfect place for those Who do not want to be in the crazy heat of Bkk. When we wanted to relax, we just could stay at the house, profiting from the swimming pool and the beautiful garden. And When we wanted to live the crazy Bkk, we just had to take à bus or à boat. Charlie and Raewyn picked us up at the airport. That was Nice to get this service. They were also very helpful and provided some good advices. We would not hesitate to go back and stay at your place.
This was my first time in Bangkok and I could not have picked a better place to stay or better people to help me navigate the complexities of this city. The accommodation was exactly as described and photographed. Raewyn and Charlie were amazing hosts and could not have been more helpful. This made my first week here so much more that I realistically expected. Thank you my friends....It has been an honour and privilege to get to know you and your extended family. You have not heard the last of me... (LOL) I'll be back.
Raewyn was the perfect hostess. She helped us to navigate our way through Bangkok, and she really made us feel at home and cared for. The accommodations were amazing, the house is a perfect sanctuary of peace in the middle of bustling Bangkok. The property is lush and beautiful, and made us feel like we were in the middle of the jungle! There are lots of markets near by, as well as great access to public transportation.
We felt totally welcome and safe staying here, and Raewyns advice and knowledge of the area made us feel less like fish out of water (we are from Canada.)
We cannot say enough amazing things about this place! If you are looking for a place that gives you access to all the Bangkok has to offer, without having to stay in the centre of it all this is your place. You will feel totally taken care of.
Thank you Raewyn and family for making our first days in Thailand so amazing! We will be back for sure.
This is a quiet oasis in the middle of the action. The property feels like you are in a far-away garden with nice little picturesque areas to explore and photograph. However, you need only step out of the gate to find everything else you need--shops, street-side vendors, a temple, friendly neighbors. If you want a bigger shopping experience the Big C mall is within walking distance or you can catch one of the frequent buses on the nearby road. The ferry is about a 15 minute bus ride away and it stops at piers serving several areas. It takes about 45 minutes to get to the Bangkok city pier but the ferry experience is worth it (plus it is faster and cheaper, avoiding all the traffic on the roads).
My room was immaculate and comfortable. The fully-equipped community kitchen area includes a large pavilion with plenty of tables for visiting with other guests or siting quietly by yourself, if you wish. They even have a sparklingly clean pool for a refreshing swim on a hot day.
Raewyn and Charlie are fantastic hosts and they truly want their guests to feel at home. The entire family welcomed me as if I was returning home from a long journey, which is just what this weary traveler needed. Everyone is so respectful of your privacy but ready for a chat if you want some company. If you find you need something, just ask and you'll receive it or get advice on where to find it. Raewyn even took the time to drive me to get medical help and then stayed with me to help with any language issues. I also indulged in two of the services provided by other family members, both at excellent rates and without leaving the property--a professional haircut by the sister-in-law stylist and delicious home-cooked Thai meals by Charlie's sister. Be sure to read the information packet to learn about all the services offered at great prices.
This is the perfect place, whether for a short or long term stay. When I return to Thailand, I hope there is an open room for me here.
