Helpful staff. You can reach almost any place of the city from here simply and fast. Lots of food at Jalan Alor street and many bars around. Pretty good place for that money =]

I did meet Alex but a partner Sam helped me over the phone. He was helpful in getting me there. The location was great for nightlife. If I come back by myself I will return. Thanks everyone
Not bad at all, considering what I paid for this I was generally satisfied. The location was really good with a hop-on/hop-off bus stop right at the door. This is also walking distance from a lot of Kuala Lumpur attractions. The place could have been cleaner and better maintained though.
It was basic, but suited my needs.
The place is called “FunkyTown Guesthouse”. The address is 19 Jalan Alor, Bukit Bintang, 50200 Kuala Lumpur, KL, Malaysia. It’s behind Jalan Alor.

Location- 5min walk to everywhere (malls, food stalls and bus stops)
Great Morning receptionist
Value for your money
Alex, the host
The only things we didn't like were the loud noises other guests would make upon entering at around 2am (wish the receptionist during night time had told them to keep it down) and the water dripping air condition which fell on the carpeted floor which made the room and the wall smell moldy. We only stayed for two nights so I didn't bother to have our rooms changed.
This guest house was located in a perfect location near the heart of nightlife, hawkers, and shopping centers. Also close to the monorail station.
It was clean and felt safe with the 24 hour receptionist and security door. It also had great air conditioning in the rooms and reliable wifi.
My only comment would be that this is more like a hostel (with private rooms/ bath) than someone's spare room. Alex did not live there and sounds like he is a manager or owner of a few guest house buildings. This is not a problem, but confusing when I first got in. Also, be prepared for small quarters, in the room and bathroom. But you can't beat the price for the area!
Alex was a very considerate Guest. We hung out a few times and he was quite interesting to hang out with. He was superclean great personality and fun to be with. Thanks to Airbnb that we're now close friends and it's good to have another American friend based in KL
