I'm a writer who lives in Bristol but travels to London and across the UK often. Our house is warm and friendly but we respect our guests' privacy and though you're always welcome to use the kitchen and shared spaces in our home you're just as welcome to shut yourself away in your own bedroom which has a telly, desk, free wifi and a hot drinks tray.
We're loaded with information about the best local cafes, bars, restaurants, music venues, cinemas and many theatres and can direct you to just about anywhere in Bristol. Just around the corner from us is North Street's iconic Tobacco Factory, a converted theatre and cafe bar which is the brainchild of architect and philanthropist, George Ferguson. His belief in South Bristol has regenerated our patch into one of the buzziest in the area and a highlight is the Tobacco Factory's annual Spring Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory season which always receives national acclaim. On the same street is North Street's own brewery (and Brewery Theatre), an outstanding baker, several bars, the whole range of cafes and restaurants and every manner of local butcher, hardware shop, chemist, post office and other community resource. North Street is a fabulous place to spend time on and local people are incredibly proud of it.
For runners and outside exercise enthusiasts there is a nearby park with adult equipment and we are very close to the river paths – a moderate runner can jog to the Suspension Bridge in a comfortable 20 minutes.
