Our stay at Debora's place was GREAT! The house is in a very secluded area which is great if you are looking for a quiet vacation. The beach is a 5 minute walk from the house and is very quiet. We stayed for three days and only saw 2 other people on the beach. There aren't many restaurants or stores nearby but you can walk over to banana azul hotel to rent a bike for $6 a day. We highly recommend renting a bike because long walks in the heat are not the greatest! If you're looking to interact with more people and have a wider selection of restaurants, you can walk about 30min along the beach or bike 10-15mjn to the nearest beach towns. Finally, if you do plan to travel at night be sure to bring a flashlight! It'll come in handy.
We had a wonderful stay at Debora 's house in playa negra. We rented bikes to go to town and other beaches, had yoga classes near by and were overwhelmed by the garden and beauty, and of course cute Mimi the cat.
Great experience! Beautiful property, the best cat, modern architecture hats rare in that region.
This was by far our best place in Costa Rica! May be a little biased because we got engaged here, but it was the perfect setting!
Love puerto viejo and all it has to offer, great food, people and amazing beaches. Lots to do and see, even just exploring on your own (recommended). Koki Beach was the best meal we ever had, may be because it was also my birthday! Big weekend and the best place to do it.
Debora was a great host and has a beautiful place, love the privacy.
Debora's place was the perfect respite and decompression location for us! The house is simple and lovely. Throwing the doors open each morning to let the outside in was amazing, though doing so the first night to sleep was ill-advised without mosquito spray!! The town of Puerto Viejo is a typical party beach town, so it was nice to be a distance from there. The walk along the beach to town was less than 20 minutes, and lovely both day and night!
We had been warned about the howling monkeys and birds, which were lovely and did not wake us for long....and were a lovely reminder of the fact that we were living in the forest!
We did not meet Debora, as she was out of town, but her friends patiently waited for us as our trip to the south coast from San Jose took two hours longer than anticipated! The drive is long, and if there is an accident it is a challenge, as the road is two-laned and through the forest, but once at the house, all that falls away!
I would definitely stay at Debora's place again!
What a beautiful house! And so nice to just be able to open the walls and watch the rain. It is a bit far away from town, about a 30 minute walk, but easy to get there just walking along the beach. There is also a great cat to help keep you company.
Debora and her friends were great host. The house was beautiful just as pictured. I was very comfortable. Debora was very responsive to all my requests thank you for a lovely stay.
We didn't meet Deborah because she was out of town, but her friend was waiting for us. She was very friendly and easy going. The house is almost at the beach and a 5 minutes drive from the lovely and cozy town.
Deborah has a sweet cat in house, we loved her :-)
The monkeys were in the garden, fresh bananas and limes in the trees. What more do you need. Pura Vida!
The house is absolutely gorgeous, comfortable, inviting -- it's an amazing space for anyone who wants to have a more private living situation in Puerto Viejo, and you can throw all the doors open in the morning or in the rain and feel like you're outside in the big, beautiful yard. It's close to the beach and a good long walk (or shorter bike ride, which I'd recommend) from town. And there was a very cute, very friendly cat! My boyfriend and I came after a serious rainstorm that knocked the wifi out for our whole visit, and the washing machine wasn't working -- but still loved every moment of our stay in the house.
We spent a lovely week at Debora's house! Even on rainy days we were able to open up the house and listen/watch the rain while we chilled out and read.
All the amenities were great. Super close to the beach and not too far from town. I would recommend having a car or renting bikes. This will enable you to explore much more.
Debora was out of town during our stay but was super conscientious about checking in on us and had a friend if hers welcome us.
We will definitely be back.
I have known Debora for many years, we met through work and have become really good friends. She is a very friendly and easy going person, honest and hardworking, and she is a warm and caring host. I would happily recommend her and her place to others in the Airbnb community, confident that they will have a great experience if they stay with her.
