"A Room With a View" meets "A Touch of Class" = Paradise Found!
We had a fantastic 2 night stay with Richard and found him to be warm, cheery and endlessly helpful, besides which, he bakes a fabulous croissant. He had lots of suggestions about how we might spend our time and they were all dead on. The room we enjoyed was private, very clean and beautifully appointed. Very comfortable bed!
We hope to stay again when visiting our son at school.
We had a most lovely stay. The home was even more than we imagined from the listing. A beautiful Mediterranean setting overlooking the Pacific and the Santa Barbara Mission. Luscious gardens with the scent of jasmine in the night air. What's not to love?
Our room had a very comfy memory foam mattress and plenty of space. Richard was a most gracious and egaging host. He provided excellent local recommendations and a scrumptious breakfast. We are looking forward to coming back to Santa Barbara to stay again.
Richard's home is more than terrific and fantastic! It's just the best airbnb experience for us ever. We were so lucky to stay at Richard's luxurious house which itself is a 'sightseeing spot' for us. We enjoyed every moment there. The decorations, the view over the rest of the city, the fresh breakfast every morning, believe me, you just have every reason to stay with Richard! He was being very accommodating and helpful to us, the recommendations for where to go were also great! We had a wonderful time in Santa Barbara! Would love to stay at Richard's home again next time for sure!
Richard is a very welcoming host and has a beautiful home with a fantastic view out to the ocean. The room I stayed in was lovely and had a wonderful cozy feel. The bathroom was also tastefully decorated and had a great shower.
The home is run like a Bed & Breakfast and Richard provides a really yummy morning meal of freshly baked croissants, yogurt, fruit and tea/coffee. Since it's a B&B you might run into other guests over breakfast, but everyone is out and about during the day.
Highly recommended. Enjoy!
Richard's spectacular home is what Airbnb is all about! Where else could you have access to a magnificent mansion overlooking the Pacific, interestingly designed with fabulous original art and lovingly tended to by a fascinating guy like Brit Richard who serves up a deli sh breakfast each morning? Only on Air! I loved this place and I plan to make it my new home away from home on the way down the coast from now on. Montecito is a super special, exclusive neighborhood close to everything. The place (of course) has all of the Creature Comforts and is a great deal! Richard's home is perfect for the discerning guest with sophisticated tastes and sensibilities. Richard has straight forward House Rules that aren't for everyone, but for me, just right. It is a civilized, immaculately cared for space with comfortable beds and beautiful manicured gardens. The pool and spa are just lovely. I could go on and on! LOVED IT!!
Montecito Island View is my favorite accommodations when I come to Santa Barbara. Quiet, beautiful, comfortable and the best hosts around. Always looking forward to my next visit. Thanks Richard and Kirsten for opening up your perfect home.
Richard greeted us upon arrival and showed us our room which was spacious and bright. During our three night stay we especially appreciated the comfortable bed and the portable heater which allowed us to keep the room at just the right temperature. Breakfast was yummy with fresh croissants, yogurt and berries. We were just a few minutes from Santa Barbara proper where we attended the film festival. The house has a lovely view and if it had been milder we would have enjoyed sitting out on the patio with our coffee.
My grandmother and I enjoyed the most wonderful stay at Richard and Kirsten's place in Montecito. My grandmother OOoo'd and Ahhhh'd over all of the decor and personal touches in the house. The views from the outdoor space were so peaceful and beautiful, and Kirsten went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. Our favorite touch with the fresh croissants each morning :) I highly recommend staying here for your next Montecito/Santa Barbara trip!
