The apartment is wonderful, very big clean and cozy! Especially we liked a view from the balcony and really comfortable rooms) It is perfectly located in the city and we did’t have any problem with transport. Everything was in order when we arrived and Fula advised us a good place nearby where to celebrate the New Year, thanks her for that. She is very friendly) It is perfect if there are 4-5 persons who are wanted to stay in Rome for a little while. The only minus - we were a little bit cold inside, because the central heating works rather bad. But maybe it is a common problem for old buildings in Rome during the winter. The rest was really great and we enjoyed our stay there.
We never met Fula but our contact with her via email was always fast. Her recommendations were fantastic and allowed us to tap into the Rome for locals. The room was as described and considering it's central location, very quiet. I'm not sure if anything really prepares you for the climb up the six flights of stairs but it results in being able to look out at the city from the balcony in your room which is cool.
Unfortunately we didn't see Fula because we stayed in her apartment only one day and she wasn't at home when we arrived. But she was so kind to organise for a friend to welcome us into her apartment. The room is very comfortable, clean and nice decorated. There are the guest's bathroom and balcony with beautiful view (6th floor)! Great location: only 50 mt from metro Vittorio Emanuele. We had a good time in Fula's apartment. Highly recommend!!
We had a great stay at Fula's place! She is a great host, and was incredibly helpful in pointing out some really nice places to eat and drink -- especially because you won't find those places in any tourist guide. The flat is located within an easy walking distance of the Colosseum and Termini, is also quite easy to reach other public transport methods. (Metro, tram, bus), and is also a nice walk away from other great tourist attractions.
6th floor without a lift - no problem! It's quite an easy climb, and all that food and drink needs to be balanced off anyway :-)
The wi-fi was a little flaky - the password didn't work, but it didn't really matter as we had a great map, guidebook and Fula's pointers to help out.
Would highly recommend staying here.
Super swanky, modern, spacious, comfy apartment with lovely balcony and rooftop access. Bit of a march up and down the stairs, but we ate a ton of pizza so maybe it all evened out. Great rate for 2 beds, 2 bathrooms and a totally chill host willing to take the time to outline her fave spots on pen & paper for us. A 10 minute stroll from the Coliseum and a skip away from a Metro stop. Priced very generously - loved our stay.
// Our stay at Fula’s apartment was nice. Fula is a great host. I went to Rome with my mother and we appreciated the time we spent in the city. We were very close to the metro. Termini Station and the Coliseum are not far. The apartment is at the 6th floor, but no elevator, so be ready. We appreciated that our room has a private bathroom. Perfect for a short stay in the city.
Fula is excellent host! On our first night she invited us to a restaurant opening nearby where we witnessed a lively night life event and had our first Italian pizza, yummy! Fula is a nice person and interesting to talk to, although we hadn't seen here much. We mostly noticed her presence by clean towels in guest bathroom and slightly relocated furniture. Although we mostly were out, the feel is we had the apartment to ourselves.
The room and whole apartment is tidy and nice, the balcony is great and separate bathroom is comfortable. The apartment is strategically located in about 5 min walk from Termini, and another metro station is right there on the square, so it's easy to reach any destination in Rome from here. The place is very quiet and the roof has a nice terrace, very romantic. We are looking forward to visiting Rome again soon and hope Fula's place will be available for us then.
We loved our stay (April 2012). Highly recommended!
+ location: you can walk to most sites / or use the metro, which is 50m away
+ Fula is very kind, she recommended places to eat (ice cream!) and even invited us to an exhibition
+ 6th floor (nice view, quiet at night)
+ private bathroom, use of a comfy living room and the kitchen
- No elevator (note however that, the stairs are very walk friendly)
Fula is a lovely girl. She was communicative with us from the very beginning of our booking process. She was away on business when we arrived but organised for a friend to welcome us into her apartment. He gave us a wonderful recommendation on a restaurant to dine at which we did 2 nights later and super pleased with the choice. Fula ever so kindly gave us her room for our 6 night stay over the busy New Years Eve period in Rome. We were very pleased with the room and the ensuite bathroom. The apartment has a lovely, creative feel about it. The 6 floors give you a nice workout but did not worry us at all. Having access to WIFI was great but it was only available in the lounge area and not our room. The apartment is located in a vibrant multicultural area and easy walking distance to many sites. We loved our stay with Fula.
Ilze is a really nice and sweet host. The apartment is nicely decorated, the room and bathroom are clean. The location is fantastic, just a couple of seconds of the metro. Connected with tram and buses that go everywhere too. Plus that just around the corner there is the best cafe/restaurant ever. We spent many hours there for breakfast or dinner and drinks! I wouldn't recommend more Ilze's place, but get prepared to be exercised. :)
Even though we didn't personally hosted her she, and her friend, were definitely recommended hosts.
They were punctual on arrival and very precise in respecting the house rules.
Would for sure recommend them to any other host.
indeed everything is more than OK at Ilze's place. she is a sweet host, a talented artist, a good cook, and her apartment is very nice. A+
Ilze is a wonderful host - regarding your mood she will:
a) recommend the best places to be in Rome (and take you there, if you wish) or
b) let you have a good nights sleep.
The flat is situated very close to city center in a nice building + the room is super cosy. And the balcony is exactly what you wish for in a city like Rome.
To conclude, I would say it is a 5 star stay for an affordable price!
Ilze is wonderfull , and place is so nice, I enjoyed every day I stayed there! I can say that shes wonderfull host and will tell all the best places to go, tho she has fantastic taste in shops, parties. Always with lovely smile . Theres a fantastic balcony You can have cup of cofee in mornings and near is great park, not so far is Colosseum. Recommended place to stay when you are in Rome!
the flat is in the very heart of Rome: cousy, warm and always welcoming. Very close there is the park and also the transportation to all the places You have to get. Although center, the room was calm.
We visited Rome for few days and had a nice stay at Ilze, a wonderful host. The balcony let see little bit more of everyday life, also a big bed and a touch of personality in the interior made the staying unforgettable.
She was super nice, really a god host and she helped me with all the problems that a new city gives to you.the flat is wonderful, and it s in a really good area from rome.you can get every where really fast and theres metro right next to the house door.
