We really loved our stay at Donkovic's place in Dobrota. It's on a quiet street right across from the beautiful bay, but close enough to walk to excellent restaurants. The room was quiet comfortable, and because there were no other guests, we didn't have to share the shared bathroom. It was great having a big jug of water available to us to refill our water bottles.
Our host was great- excellent conversation over drinks- and very helpful.
You will be hard pressed to find a more beautiful spot and a more friendly and welcoming family when you visit the Kotor bay area. After waking up Milos' mother welcomes you with fresh coffee after which you can take a refreshing dive in the azur blue bay across the road. Milos' father was a great help in organizing affordable transport to our next location. All in all, a very pleasant experience and a family and place to remember.
Milos’ parents are very welcoming and helpful, there is a car parking spot available on the water front - it’s in a gorgeous location a little further out of Kotor, in Dobrota, and not recommended in the heat of the day to walk to the Old Town but perfect to be away from the centre and easy to catch a taxi into town which the Milos’ parents were happy to arrange for me.
The Royal Room over looks Kotor bay and has air-conditioning and is a very comfortable room to stay in - the shared bathroom between 3 rooms is adequate and not a problem as I think I was the only person staying.
The terrace is also lovely to have a morning coffee and watch the world go by.
Fork and Spoon restaurant was recommended and where I dined one evening - the food was enjoyable, it is an easy 300m walk to the right or if you walk left for a few minutes there is a bar that is on the water front for a sunset drink.
I also went for a swim in the bay at the front of the accommodation - the family are building a deck or you can walk along the bay to find a little beach area.
The location of the accommodation on AirBnB map is slightly wrong as it is further away from Kotor.
Milos and his family were very welcoming. The room was very pleasant and great location by the waterfront.
Nice place with great view. Milos' parents were very welcoming. There is only one bathroom for three rooms, but it was not a big problem for us and although the bathroom could use some renovation it was kept clean and in good condition. Milos' parents live downstairs so you have to go through their place when going in and out of the house.
Terrace has really nice view and it was great to enjoy it for breakfast and in the evening. Overall we had a nice stay.
Great little spot just north of Kotor in Dobrota. The hosts, while limited English, were extremely helpful and pleasant. They had coffee for me every morning and some occasional treats.
I spent 10 days there and was very happy with my choice. The only minor issue is the bathroom was still a bit of a work in progress with no shower door so it would get a little wet but they did a good job keeping it clean and dry.
It's a solid 30-40 minute walk to Old Town. So if you are only staying a day, you might want to stay in Old Town, but for anything longer, Dobrota is much better. It's much more quiet and you are right on the water. You just walk outside and you can jump in.
The dock area there isn't as nice as some of the other places, but it's also not crowded and you can just lounge and swim in peace. I'd much rather have that scenario than an extended pier bathing area with lots of patio furniture but also lots of people and kids. ;-)
Overall I highly recommend this spot for any stay over 2-3 days. The only thing I would change (and this has nothing to do with place, just travel tip) is I would have rented a car. I spent a ton on taxis to see the area and should have just gotten a car.
But I loved my stay there. :)
A very welcoming part of Dobrota with amazing views. Walking out a lovely apartment, to enjoy the sunshine and water opposite. Perfect location, with very friendly hosts who make you feel very welcome.
Milo's parents accommodated us and were very helping and really really nice and friendly to us. They cared a lot about our needs and questions and helped us a lot. The bed in our room was very big and comfortable, with view to the sea. The walls however were thin and we could hear the other guests get up very early. There was a small bathroom used by all the guests, that could be in a better shape.
The big terrace was very nice to have our breakfast or dinner on (we ate simple things, there is no kitchen that can be used).
Kotor is quite touristy, you see a lot of people from all over the world on the streets but also lots of locals (all in all - a lot of people on the streets). For people who like having facilities to go out, this accomodation is a good choice, since there are a lot of bars and restaurants with music directly next to the water. If you however enjoy calm and remote places with only few people, there are (some) other calmer places on the inner bay that you should choose.
really beautiful house with an amazing view on the kotor bay (exactly like the pictures!!) Milos parents were very helpful and welcoming, offering us coffee every day! the house is slightly away from the old city (25ish min walk) but the walk towards the water bank makes up for it! i highly recommend this place if you visit kotor!
