I was born and raised in Hong Kong, before spending my teenage years in Canada. Now I live in Austin with my husband and 2 dogs (a dachshund and a collie). During the day, I get to spend my time as a product manager at a B corp called Aunt Bertha, building a search engine for social services. My husband works from home as a programmer at Heroku, making deploying millions of web applications easier.
During my college years when I was traveling a lot, I received overwhelmingly warm hospitality wherever I went. Friends and kind strangers always received me with open arms, offered their homes, made me dinners, chatted with me late into the night about everything and anything. This was before Airbnb exists.
I also ended every trip telling myself that I want to reciprocate that hospitality, sharing with other travelers the places I love, making sure they feel taken care of the same way others have made me feel over the years.
These days, I still travel and love staying with locals. And I would love to finally start hosting as well. Fortunately, Airbnb makes connecting so easy.
If you're staying at my place, depending on the day you visit, I might or might not be in town. Regardless, please make yourself at home. Enjoy all the coffee and beverages we have in stock. Ask me for a list of my favorite trails, swimming holes, food trucks and dive bars. I'll be respectful of your privacy, but always a call/text away if you need any help!
If I'm staying at your place, thank you for hosting me. I look forward to fall in love with your city.
