I work in the arts and have lived in NY my whole life. Most of my time is spent out of the apartment doing social or work related activities. I travel for work and enjoy visiting new places.
We had a wonderful time at Andrei's place. Andrei was very welcoming, gave us many good advice. His place is perfectly located in LES. The bedroom is larger than it looks like on the picture. It is clean and cool. We almost had the entire apartment for us as Andrei was staying at his wife's. I would highly recommend booking with him !
We really enjoyed our stay in Andrei's apartment. Everything was clean and comfortable, the room is a good size for 2 people for a week and the shower was great. The apartment is well located - it was really easy to get everywhere by subway or on foot and Andrei gave us some excellent recommendations for places to eat in the neighbourhood. Thanks!
Great location, near the Subway, SOHO, South Street Seaport... The house is suoer clean. Comfortable mattress and pillows. The room is bigger than it appears in the photos. Very quiet and calm. Andrei is very helpful and makes things very easy for its host. I will certainly repeat in the future.
Had a great time staying at Andrei's place with my wife last weekend. The apartment was clean and very comfortable. Andrei was a great host. The place was located in a very convenient area of the city. I would definitely recommend this place.
Having visited NYC before, I wanted to stay in the LES. I was not disappointed and will definitely stay here again. The apartment was spacious (easily 3x bigger than the last hotel I stayed at in NYC and much better value), clean and conveniently located near good restaurants, coffee shops, many art galleries and interesting shopping. The apartment was a short walk to the subway and the new CitiBike station providing a great place to explore the city from.
The apartment was excellent for our 5 day visit in New York, clean and compact, and the host, Andrei, was most helpful. Self contained it had all the basic amenities and despite the absence of a TV, everything else was just right. Convenient to the subway just minutes away it was easy to get around in Manhattan. Chinatown being close enough within walking distance, we could shop for our basic needs.
We certainly would recommend Andrei's apartment in Lower East Side Manhattan, it was relatively quiet and the good thing is that there is a small park next to the apartment block - we even saw friendly squirrels running around!
We would be happy to go back there - thank you Andrei for everything!
Andrei was very communicative by email. Unfortunately, we did not meet him in person due to his travels. His friend met us to give us the key and show us the apartment. He also recommended the nearby Essex Market for breakfast and groceries. (Very good!) We had the apartment to ourselves. Good apartment (don't miss lobby mural and Andrei's art) and fine location (near subway, lots to see and eat in neighborhood). Good AC in bedroom; fan in kitchen. The apartment was a great base for our NYC adventures!
Staying at Andrei's place was a very good idea. Andrei was not around for the weekend, so I had the apartment for myself. A friend of his (George) was very responsive and helpful upon arriving. The place had everything I needed (among which real good coffee and an ironing board) and the location is great: lots of nice restaurants around, and quick access to the F- and J-lines. New York is big enough to say that location matters. The description 'Big, Quiet bedroom in Doorman building' is truthful. The apartment has an authentic feel to it (somewhat worn off in some of its details perhaps) and personally I prefer that over a slick hotelroom; it's more like coming home in the end of the day. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone who wants to explore New York for a weekend or so. By the way, if you like to read for a break, Andrei has a fine collection of books too!
Andrei was a nice host, he gave us all the stuff and the infos we needed. The place is ok for a big city as New York is, the neightborhood is quite but a little dirty because of chinatown's market places garbages.
