I will also do something that I have not done before, which is leave a response to a review because while not all my reviews are positive, they were fair, accurate and constructive feedback. This review does not fit that criteria.
There were several complaints that do not reflect the truth, which I wish to address:
First off, my instructions didn't last 30 minutes. It was clearly embellished. It was more like 15 minutes. The other 15 minutes must have been their last minute request to see my parking, which was what I was trying to offer at the beginning of check-in. Instead, they showed up in my lobby and tried to park in a time-limit drop-off/pick-up zone.
I am thorough, which most of my guests have said are positive things, especially in the event of unwanted surprises. I have lost count of the official figure, but I have hosted over 120 guests to date and my check-in instructions reflect their feedback and my experience as a host.
False fact# 2:
As for signing the papers. When did I forget? I had both parents in-law sign it. If anyone forgot anything was the fact that Anton forgot to bring the form for his parents in-law to sign, which I clearly instructed prior to finalizing the reservation and again on another communication after. They put me in the position of having to collect it during check-in.There was clearly no communication between Anton and his wife about this.
False fact# 3:
Inconvenient paper work? Well, Anton had agreed to this prior to me accepting his reservation. Expectation was clearly set in advance. Him bringing it up in the review is extremely out of line!
False fact# 4:
Note so much a false fact, but a creative way to highlight one of their displeasures to put down my condo profile. I told them about the grocery store distance prior to finalizing the reservation -- again, bringing it up and providing the estimated time, also out of line.
Having stayed for 5 nights they had plenty of opportunities to contact me with their concerns - ie fridge space. But no word from them.
I was extremely generous in my brief, but non-critical review. But in light of this negative (inaccurate and unfair) review, I have some displeasures of my own.
My DVD was dropped on the floor and wasn't picked up. The case was opened with the physical DVD outside of the case. They obviously brought their own device to hook it up to my tv and knocked over some things.
My glass that are clearly used for drinking (placed in the kitchen) was left in the washroom -- clearly used for toothbrush.
Anton conveniently left out the fact that I agreed to a super early original check-out time of 5am on a work day. He also asked last minute (evening before check-out) to change it to after work, so we agreed to 5:30pm. This makes me a consistently flexible host.
I found this review to be extremely out of line and at no point, did any of the issues were communicated to me so I can address them. They had 5 whole nights to do so and chose to leave me this negative review. Though not perfect, I am proud of my Super Host status because it was based on consistent positive customer/guest experiences. I can respect some of Anton's opinions, but incorporating false claims was out of line.
