This is a lovely apartment in a great neighborhood. The apartment was very clean and the location can't be beat. Prenzlauer Berg has lots to offer, and it's a quick walk or U-Bahn to get anywhere else. Inside, the apartment has lots of lovely natural light, a great balcony (of which I'm sure we would have made greater use had it not been November), and all the amenities one requires. We were extremely satisfied with our stay and Kevin was great before and during our stay making sure everything ran smoothly. Great place, great value!
This is an ideal property for two people. The location of the flat is excellent. A gorgeous neighbourhood, with plenty of great restaurants within a five minute walk. The area is well served by public transport. We would certainly stay here again. The host was unable to meet us due to work commitments, but left the key with a nearby shop, and communicated with us regularly to ensure we were settled in and enjoying our stay.
Kevin is a great host, the flat is really cosy and comfortable, the location is perfect! We come again.
Great location, great host - I would recommend to anyone visiting Berlin!
Kevin was an awesome host, and his apartment was MAGICAL!! Our trip to Berlin was thrown together very last minute, and we were stressed about being able to find a nice place to stay. Kevin came to our rescue, answering our inquiries immediately, and agreeing to host us on short notice. His apartment was a dream - so spacious, so comfortable, and oh so tastefully decorated. Attention to detail was impeccable. There is a huge kitchen as well, recently renovated, with great light all day, as well as a balcony that overlooks Danziger Strasse, in the heart of Prenzlauerberg.
We stayed for a week, and loved the neighborhood so much. There are incredible restaurants and cafés on every block and in every direction. Berlin is so much fun to explore, and Kevin's apartment is in a prime location to discover the city. The M10 tram stops right in front of the building, linking to Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain in 15 minutes. In the other direction, Maurpark is a mere 5 minute tram ride, or a 15 minute walk. Don't miss the flea market on Sundays - it's pretty legendary.
Kevin's place is truly perfect for a visit to Berlin. Everything needed for a comfortable stay, Berlin style. Highly recommended for all!!
Kevin was great to deal with. He was super responsive and helpful with directions, recommendations, etc. The apartment looks exactly like the pictures and the neighborhood is awesome with tons of restaurants and activities within walking distance. The tram is also just a block and a half away that will get you easily around town. The only cons of this apartment are what others have already mentioned: lots of stairs (but I thought if as my daily vacation workout :)) and no curtain in the bedroom (though the sunrise didn't really bother my sleep at all). I would recommend staying here for your trip to Berlin!
It would be hard to beat this location; it's close to several of my favorite cafes (like No Fire No Glory) and restaurants (like Pasternak) in Prenzlauer Berg. The apartment is nice, cozy, and quiet, but keep in mind that it has no laundry facilities and is a fifth-floor walkup if that's an issue. Kevin is a great host and the hand-off was super easy.
Great location, very light and sunny apartment. Kevin was very helpful and replied to my emails immediately. Thank you!
The apartment was spacious with a great view and in a very trendy area. While we didn't meet Kevin person, he gave helpful tips on where to eat and what to see. He was also very responsive with any questions that came up during the stay. I would stay here again!
Kevin's flat was a much needed break between hotels. I felt like I was coming back home and felt more relaxed. Great open space and a lovely balcony. The location was ideal. Kevin was - without a doubt - a helpful host. He was quick to reply to all my messages and he was accommodating when my plane was late. He also gave me useful tips for sight seeing in Berlin (and even where to do my laundry). Cheers to you Kevin!
Kevin was a worderful guest. Very charming and well mannered. He leaves home in impeccably way and leaves me with a nice friendly (email hidden) i recommend Kevin as your next guest!
Having rented over 15 apartments around the world on airbnb.com, I can honestly say that that the two most important qualities are professionalism and local guidance. Sure the apartment should be professionally cleaned (which his is) and decorative pillows are nice (which there are), but those aren't the aspects that leave a lasting impression. In my experience it's the comfort and assurance that comes from trusting your host, and the invaluable insight they can provide about what to do and where to go. Kevin is mature, detail-oriented and takes this process seriously. Beyond making sure your trip will be smooth and comfortable, Kevin is a ridiculous source for what's happening around town. He's the kind of guy who eats at a restaurant on opening night, subscribes to all of the event lists, and has his finger on Berlin's ever changing pulse. You can finally throw away the guidebook and find out where other locals actually hang out. And without being dramatic, for me this has been priceless.
Oh yeah - he also speaks German, Danish and English fluently.
It is with the greatest confidence that I recommend Kevin to Airbnb users. I have stayed with him many times in New York, California and Berlin, and he truly is the best host that I know. When I visited him in Berlin, I was amazed by how familiar he was with the city. He seemed to know all the best spots. He took me to outstanding shops, restaurants, clubs, museums, and art galleries, some of which weren't even mentioned in any guide books!
In fact, Kevin is so trustworthy that I asked him to serve as the officiant at my wedding. He basically planned the whole thing even though he was living in Berlin while my husband and I were living in New York. He scheduled (website hidden) dates for us to discuss our progress, and helped us make all the important decisions. Thanks to Kevin, the wedding went off without a hitch and was a great success!
I know from experience that Kevin is a great host, and I am sure that Airbnb users will be thrilled with his apartment, knowledge of the city, and generally helpful demeanor!
