With Bella Vista Country House, we have created the form of accommodation that we prefer when travelling: a home away from home that acts as a base for exploring the locale; the flexibility to cook our own meals when we want if we choose; and meeting new interesting people who share our interests... while still having the ability to have quiet time in our own private space. We have created the family room because we believe that travel should be affordable and practical for everyone, regardless of income or size of travel party.
We have a special interest in health and wellness. The food we prepare is all-natural and homemade where possible, with vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free options available. The cleaning products we use are good for the environment as much as possible, and we encourage our guests to recycle and compost. At Bella Vista, we've hosted wellness-related workshops/retreats on topics like Yoga and Meditation, "Power of the Mind", "Law of Attraction", Mind-body Connection, and Psychotherapy. We have even hosted an outdoor wedding of 75 people! Please let us know if you're interested in either attending one or using Bella Vista as your next venue.
Music is very important to us, whether it is playing guitar by the bonfire, playing all genres of recorded music, or simply humming a tune. We also know that music comes in all forms, including hearing the crickets and frogs at night, the birds in the morning, or the rustling of the leaves. Our lovely area makes its own music that is a soothing and peaceful accompaniment to the glorious views of our surroundings. We never get tired of seeing it and we're sure you won't either.
As hosts, you'll find us attentive and helpful, yet casual. We're here if you want to talk with us or ask questions, but we also respect your need for privacy and quiet.
Our Favourite Travel Experience: Hiking with a multi-national group along the alternative path of the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu: meeting many new people; staying at little hostels along the way (some in private rooms, some in dormitories, one with chickens in the other part of the house!); soaking in the hot springs at Santa Teresa (in total darkness with only the mass of stars as our light) after a grueling 11 hour hike; and... making it to the end!
Our Most Awe-inspiring --and Humbling-- Travel Experience: Standing on the trail above Machu Picchu, looking out over the magnificence of the ruins and the sea of mountain tops stretching as far as the eye could see.
We hope that we can help you create similar memories of your visit to Canada!
