Our host Alex was very sweet. The room was better than expected. We had awesome time staying there. Will always cherish the memory with that place and of course New York.
Alex's place is nice and quite well located and close to several subway ligns. There are enough shops, bars and restaurants in the area! Central park is really close. The room was very large and comfortable. Given that there are more rooms in the flat that are rented out via airbnb, the shared bathroom's cleanliness highly depends on the other occupants and rather not on Alex. We also had the chance to meet Alex! He was very nice and helpful. He was also very flexible regarding check-in and check-out times. Good value for money!
We had a fantastic stay with Alex. He was in when we arrived fairly late in the evening and always had good communication. The location is great, 1 block North of central with a couple of close subways stations to choose from.
Alex (and Johannes) were both awesome. They were extremely helpful with all things NYC, very accommodating of our strange check-in and check out-times, and also very enjoyable to talk and hang out with.
This is a fantastic neighborhood---only a block from Central Park, and equidistant from the main north/south subway lines. My wife and I always felt safe, no matter what time we were walking around.
The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet, and this was a great value. The vibe of the place really made us feel "at home" in New York.
Our host was good at making us feel welcome. The neighborhood is interesting, close to Central Park, safe, and convenient by the subways and buses to everywhere. Very close also to Columbia University.
The apartment is very central in NYC. Just a few seconds away from central park and a few blocks away from two subway stations. Perfect location and a very nice host
It was our first time in NYC and we really loved it. Part of it was our room. First of all Alex was very flexible with check-in and check-out times which was great because our flight was cancelled. The room was tiny but very comfortable - we guess that's New York City. The location is great, right by the central park and close to several subway stations and Columbia University. We had a nice stay and would come back there again.
Alex was very prompt and quickly accepted my request at late notice. he was very helpful and full of advice about transport and local vegetarian restaurants. The apartment is in excellent location and it is small but clean and easy to find. Great for short-term stay.
Me and my boyfriend loved Alex's place... It's very comfortable and clean. also, it's near the subway station. We feel very welcome for him. Alex's roommate is a very kind person, and help us with how to understand the subway lines. I strong indicate this place. For sure when we come back to NYC we will stay there again.
The room was big, clean and very close to Central Park, which is awesome! Everything is as described. The heater kept us warm over night but was a little bit noisy when venting. We were allowed to use the kitchen with all utilities, which was great. Alex's roommate was very welcoming and gave us some great advice on what to visit. We had four restful nights at Alex's place at an amazing time in NYC! Would definitely stay here again.
Alex was very kind again as last time:) The communication went well. I absolutely recommend him as a guest :)
Alex from New York City was really great host. It was visible that he know how to work airbnb, so he was well comunicated, he left my apartment in perfect shape and I enjoyed time with him. So Im happy he was happy here and I recommend him!
Alex was a nice guest, nice person to have around and talk to. We discussed running a B&B, traveling through Europe, cultural and other differences between the US and Europe... I hope his European trip will proceed well and that he will come back to us one day.
Alex a nice guy unfortunately we did'nt meet too much. Everything went easily :) i recommend him as a guest.
I have known Alex since I moved to NYC; he is the coolest guy I have met so far. Alex is intelligent, level-headed, capable, and committed to working as hard as necessary to achieve his goals. He is conscious of the needs of others and makes use of all the resources available to him to help in any way possible. He is reliable, trustworthy, and a great asset, both personally and professionally.
I would also like to add that, Alex is a really great conversationalist - in other words we can argue, but he is still respectful of my views and always has something interesting to add.
Yeah, Alex is pretty awesome.
As a fellow Airbnb host, I recommended him highly.
To be honest I'm Alex's father (of 25 years), so I'm not exactly an impartial reference :-) When we moved to the small city of Charlottesville, VA, 15 years ago, from the very small town of Socorro, New Mexico, (just south of Santa Fe, oh 150 miles or so....) Cheryl and I never dreamed that our kids might end up in NYC. But what a wonderful experience this has been, seeing Alex begin his career at Sloan-Kettering and embrace all that New York has to offer. What an adventure, and this enterprise with AirBnB should just add to that, giving them the chance to meet folks from around the world as they come to experience America's Greatest City. Alex has quickly learned to be a New Yorker: Learning the subways, Burroughs, and neighborhoods as if he's lived there for years, but with all the excitement of a new arrival. He and Satir have thrown themselves at their AirBnB project, and I know they are excited to be living in a great apartment in a safe, interesting neighborhood, with easy access to all of New York. We last visited there in November, can't wait to stay in the new place and neighborhood this summer. Alex and Satir are responsible, professional young people, I'm sure they'll be excellent hosts and help you enjoy your New York visits. (ps- Cheryl and I have done 3 AirBnB vacations over the last couple years, all far more enjoyable than staying in a hotel or motel. It really works for us, what a great idea and use of the internet, we've just never been disappointed by an AirBnB experience.)
