Marie's place is lovely. She and her friend was very friendly. A small apartment with a big room. It was a good chance to experience Paris local life. The location is great, also many restaurant and cafe around there.
Marie was out of town during our stay, so we unfortunately did not get to meet her. And even though the apartment is situated on the 6th floor it was not as bad as it might sound. Marie was very kind in leaving a guide to the apartment and the surrounding area both in terms of eating and going out afterwards.
- The apartment is as mentioned very small, but the guestroom is very big. A lot bigger than most hotel rooms in Paris for sure.
- The kitchen seemed to be well stocked and well equipped.
- The place is very quiet facing a courtyard and so we had no problems falling asleep.
- Also the area is great, we basically had everything within walking distance. Worth mentioning is a boulangerie on the corner of Rue du Faub. du Temple and Rue de Malte called "Aux Pêchês Normands". They make the BEST pains aux raisins I have ever tasted!
- Even though the shower cubicle was very small there was plenty of hot water and lots of pressure.
- The wireless connection was annoying at times as it refused to connect. But I found a solution for that. You just need to go to the following site: (website hidden) and you can enter the username and password provided by Marie.
- There was no iron and no hairdryer, which made it difficult to get rid of the wrinkles in our clothes and the frizz out of our hair. :-)
Please note that the picture of the living room is not up-to-date. Where you see the computer and computer screen there is now a small fridge and on top is a table top with a barstool on either side.
As two friends visiting, overall we had a comfortable stay in Marie's Bohemian Home. :o)
The host canceled my reservation 3 days before arrival.
Our stay at Marie´s was great. She is a very kind person.
Originally we were going to share the appartment with her but she ended up moving to a friend´s so we could be more comfortable.
The place is very well located and near a metro station that links six lines.
Breakfast was ok.
The only drawback is that there is no lift and Marie´s appartment is on the sixth floor. We knew it beforehand, though.
We would definitely go back to Marie´s if we dropped by Paris.
The apartment was very comfortable. The kitchen/bathroom area was very small but the bed and bedroom was very large and comfortable! And it was in such a great place in Paris! With access to grocery stores, bakeries and a lot of culturally diverse restaurants!
Our iphone internet did not work at the apartment. So unless you have an actual computer it may not work. We went to the KFC or McDonalds a few blocks away...
Marie is a great host, even came to get me from the metro stop when I had trouble finding the apartment at first. She also helped us with directions to airports and to places for nights out on the town.
Staying at Marie's place was great! Her description of the apartment is accurate, and the place was clean and comfortable. There are some steps to climb to get to the apartment, but if you are not going back and forth a lot, it is no problem.
All in all, great location, great host, comfortable accomodations for Paris on a budget.
Marie was very sweet and accommodating--her flat was full of light and in a convenient area. A lovely visit!
I know Marie for years, this is a friend of mine, a very nice and welcoming person to meet.
She loves travelling and discovering new landscapes.
Her flat is very well located in Paris, two minutes from the Republic Place. It is a charming appartement especially her room with her four-poster bed.
I truly advise to spend few night there to discover Paris you won't be disappointed!
