My wife and I enjoy eating at fine restaurants, visiting museums, photography and reading.
From our very first contact with Jamie, he was extremely helpful and always quick to reply. On our arrival, the villa was clean, homely and the view amazing!
We used the villa as our crew house for a sailing regatta out of Nanny Cay, which was an easy 15min drive away. The location also made catching the ferry from West End back to St Thomas for our flights home really easy.
The villa was extremely well equipped for our large group - lots extra bits in the kitchen, the awesome BBQ and loads of additional towels and bedding. We were all extremely comfortable, plus there are loads of living spaces - both indoor and out.
Jamie put us in touch with Denzil Clyne for 4WD hire, something I would strongly recommend.
I never wanted to get out of the pool. We didn't want to leave and we couldn't have wished for much more. A very special spot.
This is a fantastic villa! We shared it as a group of friends (mostly couples) and it worked brilliantly. As the accommodation is split across 3 buildings, separate by the pool, you feel you have plenty of space and privacy when you want it. The living areas are very functional and comfortable. The outside furniture is excellent, you can sit at the bbq bar, bake on the loungers, sit at the table or lounge on the chaise enjoying the 180 degree view our across ocean. It is quite honestly out of this world. The villa is at the top of steep hill (as is everywhere in Tortola it seems) so make sure you rent a good 4x4 to get up the track. It's a 25min drive to road town. Just at the bottom of the hill though you have Soper's marina where there are a couple of nice bars and breakfast places. A short drive away we found the stunning smuggler's cove for snorkling and a little further on is long bay which is exactly how you imagine a Caribbean beach. Just round the coast, Sebastian's was great for lunch.
James kept us well informed about the villa and the island, both prior to our trip and during our stay. The description of the accommodation is accurate, the pictures probably under sell it even. It was a seamless visit. We ordered some food which was waiting for us on arrival and there were plenty of helpful things left there like coffee, salt and pepper etc (even a bit of tequila in one of the cupboards).
We would love to return and just spend some more time using the pool, admiring the view and cooking on the big gas bbq!
This is a truly great house. Peaceful, quiet, and perfect for families or friends that want to go on vacation together but also have their own space when they need it. The pool is great for kids and the grill, outdoor tables and kitchen are all well laid out. We couldn't have had a better time. Everything is clean and fresh and the location can't be beat. You can drive down windy dirt roads to your pick of beaches, or you can walk. It's a hilly neighborhood with beautiful houses and a view around every bend. Highlights for my kids included swimming in the pool at night, (with all the underwater lights) and watching 3 nurse sharks who swam right by us when we were eating lunch at the Fish and Lime restaurant, at the bottom of the hill past the West End Ferry.
I loved the large bedrooms and beautiful paintings that decorated the house. All in all a marvelous place we would love to go back to.
Thank you for allowing our family the joy of spending a week at Villa Dulcinea. Your villa is beautiful, the views are fantastic, and it is a great launching pad to see other parts of the BVI. From your porch, I witnessed the most beautiful rainbow of my life stretching from Tortola to Jost Van Dyke. Even though we arrived at the wrong ferry dock at a late hour, Jason was very gracious in escorting us to and giving us a tour of your villa. Denzil Clyne provided excellent service by picking my son and I up the next morning so we could rent two first class vehicles.
Smugglers Cove, the Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke, trekking through the boulders to reach the spectacular beach at the Baths on Virgin Gorda, the Spa on Peter Island, watching my children ziplining near Road Town, the Clubhouse Restaurant, and Pussars are some of my favorite memories. My proudest accomplishment was jogging nonstop from the West End Ferry Dock up to the villa during my last morning run. It was a big improvement from the many walking breaks that I was forced to take during my first morning run. I wasn’t able to arrange a catamaran excursion (too early when I tried to make reservations before our trip and too late when I arrived on Tortola). However, the ferry rides to the various islands were excellent alternatives.
Thanks again for a fantastic family vacation!
Jamie was very helpful and responded to our question about the trip very quickly. The house and the views were beautiful! The big must have is a V6 4x4 vehicle. Not just to get to the house but to travel around the island. It was 8 of us and we were very comfortable at the house.... Plenty of living space.
Jamie was a great host! We flew in during a tropical storm and the ferries were closed. Jamie was sending emails of available hotel in St. Thomas for us because he knew we would be stranded on St. Thomas when we arrived. He did very thing he could to make sure we we're comfortable and having fun throughout the trip!
James ad his family was a great people.
