Sono nato a Firenze ma originario di Montefollonico dove ora abito con la mia famiglia, faccio il Geologo come libero professionista.
Yes, the unit and family are beautiful and in a true tuscan village. Andrea helped arrange dinner reservations for the nights we ate in the little mountain top town (a highlight of the trip for our out of town parents).
1. Use the town as your base for sleeping and eating dinner, but leave during the day for wine tastings and visiting surrounding towns (Montalcino, Montelpulciano, Florence, Siena).
2. Bring your mountain bikes to ride the trails outside your front door :-)
1. If you or your guests have ANY walking issues be aware of the steep incline and many steps to your apartment. We had our parents with us who wished we would've picked a bottom floor unit.
2. The unit doesn't have a heating or cooling system, so peak weather extremes make this unit uncomfortable to sleep. Although, there is a wood burning fire place for winter, so you get to enjoy a "camping" feeling.
My husband and I plan on coming back during the end of summer to make use of the riding trails. We like the idea of staying here because it's far enough from the towns we love (montalcino & montelpulciano), which we'll be riding to for lunches and panoramic views.
We could not have had a better time at Andrea and Anna's tower! We arrived at night and were greeted by our wonderful hosts who explained to us everything we needed to know.
When we woke up in the morning and looked out the window we were shocked to see the beautiful picturesque view of the rolling Tuscan hills! We also asked Andrea in advance to look into booking us a wine tour and our expectations were exceeded when we arrived and had 3 tours booked - all of which he personally accompanied us and in some cases was our translator!
The house was well equipped with dishes, pots and pans - everything we needed to make a few small meals and breakfast. We lit a fire everyday and Andrea kept us fully stocked up with wood!
If you're looking for character and charm on your trip this is the place to visit!
It was a truly great experience and we are so grateful to have met these wonderful people in the small village of Montefollonico!
Thank you so much!
I have to echo all of the positive reviews others have posted. First and foremost, Andrea and Anna are extremely responsive and kind hosts who went out of their way to answer our questions before our visit and make sure we were comfortable during our stay. They are both very gracious. The pictures of the apartment are accurate-we absolutely loved it. The town is beautiful, and is in a good location to explore other areas of Tuscany. We were lucky to hit upon an outdoor food market the time we were there. We also lucked out following Andrea and Anna's recommendation for the local trattoria- though they were closing when we arrived, the owner stayed and provided a wonderful array of meats, cheeses and bread along with a choice of local wine for us to have a picnic with. Trust all of the reviews - a true Tuscan gem!
Superbe séjour en Toscane. Montefollonico petit village adorable avec bar à vin excellent. C'était sublime. Anna et Andrea sont adorables!!!
We could just say that every other raving review already left about this beautiful little apartment is absolutely correct, but we loved it so much we want to say it all again!
Andrea and Anna could not have been more welcoming and delightful, the location is spectacular and the apartment full of charm and warmth.
The views are amazing and everything about the apartment has been carefully thought about to ensure maximum comfort, little details and personal touches to make you feel at home.
To anyone thinking of staying here, we would recommend at least two nights - our one night stay was definitely not enough.
Thank-you Andrea and Anna!
We have stayed in many places over the years and this stay tops our lists for hospitality! fun! unique! wonderful! - we had a blast, we loved absolutely everything about our trip to the area. Like some of the other reviewers - we went out of our way to stay in this tower and so glad we did. It has been the highlight of our trip for both our kids and for us. Andrea and Anna were amazing hosts and made sure we were all comfortable. The town is quaint and idyllic - great restaurant and easy access to shopping market. Wonderful day trips abound. Seriously - a fantastic if not magical experience.
Andrea and Anna provided us with an extremely welcoming and magical experience in their beautiful home. We arrived to a magnificent 13th century tower with a fire burning and a bottle of wine provided. In addition, Andrea and Anna invited us to a meal downstairs with their family of delicious regional foods. We wished we had planned to stay longer in this charming home to tour the wineries nearby. Highly recommended.
It was wonderful to arrive after dark to find a wood fire burning and a bottle of local wine and treats awaiting us. The apartment was cosy and warm and although small had plenty of room for our family of 4. The 2 bedrooms (with comfortable beds) meant we had plenty of space for luggage. There was a slight problem of the bathroom floor flooding when having a shower but this was manageable. Andrea and Anna were lovely hosts, very welcoming and helpful. I would certainly recommend this apartment - amazing to stay in a 13th century tower!
Our stay at Torre Moreschini was the best part of our trip to Italy. The place is spectacular in it's authenticity and coziness. The view and surroundings are an eyefull of Toscana. The fireplace and the local food and wines complete the romantic picture perfectly. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. Amazing Andrea and Anna are movingly kind hosts. They made us feel as welcome as friends. Always at a minutes call and making sure we had everything we needed. We sure hope to return. P.S. Thank you for introducing us your exquisite Vinsanto.
