My family and I were so pleased to have found Sim's place for our Chicago visit. It was a refreshing alternative to staying in a hotel. We enjoyed having use of a very nice kitchen to prepare simple meals. (Mariano's market has a wonderful assortment of produce, heat-and-eat and ready-to-eat items.) Our kids had a wonderful time in the outdoor pool. The Aqua is simply a breathtaking building. You will not go wrong if you stay at Sim's home.
Sim was a great host. Very thoughtful in sharing information before we arrived and all the keys and required equipment were easily accessible. This particular apartment is in a great location with all the right amenities. Everything was clean. Only advice to fellow travelers would be around how many guests can comfortably stay here. Personally, I think two to three is the ideal size given the square footage and the furniture available. You can definitely squeeze in more (we had four) but it would have been an ideal experience with a smaller group size. Overall though, highly recommend as a place to stay to enjoy Chicago!
Sim Apartment is great. We are a family of four from Germany and stayed there for 5 days. There is enough space available a full kitchen and Sim is a great guy. He gives us a very warm welcome so we feel home just from the start. The building itself with all the things you can do there is great.
But definitely breath taking for us German guys living most of the time near to the ground, the view from the 47th floor is something we will never forget. Definitely a place we can recommend.
Sim is very responsive to my enquirers and on top of things. I had a very pleasant stay at his fantastic apartment. Living in Aqua is a completely different experience than living in a hotel. I strongly recommend Sim's apartment! Excellent experience!
My wife & I stayed in Sim's apartment in the Aqua for 6 nights at the start of June. We didn't get to meet Sim during our stay unfortunately as he was out of town, however we had no problems getting into the apartment as the security staff in the building had all our details on file and were able to let us in. Sim was in constant contact via e-mail for any queries we had and responded very promptly. The apartment itself was very clean with all facilities as described (we loved the giant TV and Netflix!), and the view from the 47th floor was amazing. The Aqua building is in a perfect location as well - 5 mins walk one way to millennium park (and "the bean"), and 5 minutes walk the other way to the Michigan Avenue bridge (where the river tours all go from). I can also highly recommend the on-site supermarket "Mariano's", as it had an excellent range of fresh food (and great pizzas cooked to order!). We had a brilliant time in Chicago - there was so much to see and do that we will have to go back! I would have no problem in recommending Sim as a host or his apartment as a perfect place to stay.
Sims's apartment is in an awesome location. The building is truly iconic and is so close to all the action. From the 47th floor, the views were breathtaking. Millennium Park is just a few minutes walk away, where we enjoyed renting bikes and seeing the wonderful sculpture "The Bean". Sim was so responsive to every question we had and always replied promptly. Would definitely stay here again. The swimming pools and gym on the 3rd floor were also fabulous. Many thanks, Sim.
Nice apartment, nice building, excellent location, gracious host. 'Would definitely return.
Sim was a great host, very attentive and accommodating. The apartment has fantastic views of the city and the lake and is perfectly located. We stayed for a week and would recommend this over staying at a hotel; the apartment is best suited for two guests, unless you don't mind a couple days in the foldout couch. All the building's amenities are awesome too and the bar on the Radisson's lobby is also really good.
We stayed with our 2 kids in Sim's apartment. The view was just fantastic from his 47th floor place - lake and millenium park...we didn't get to meet Sim but he was readily available by email. He left a printout of the instructions to use the TV and the building amenities which was very useful. He even left us a bottle of wine! the place was clean and convenient. The area is great - you are close to the park, the art institute, michigan avenue and a stop of the hop on and hop off bus tour (which i recommend to all those who want to discover Chicago). We will definitely stay there again next tim we are in town!
If you are comfortable to stay at level 47 (this is an experience!), then you will enjoy this appartment and hopefully Sim will post soon the real pictures of his nice flat.
Sim's appartment is comfortable for 2 visitors, but if you need 2 separate large beds, then an inflatable bed is available and surprisingly very comfortable. But the small living room will have to be converted as a bed room, not easy.
Generally the appartment is rather basic with empty walls and very limited furniture which gives you enought space to circulate easily.
We had to face a cleaning issue but that was an accident and Sim was very sorry and very responsive and tried to help as he could.
Otherwise the building is amaizing externally but the architect was not very creative internally. The Hotel is rather nice and the food there is very good for a reasonnable price. As a all the location is rather central but chicago is so quiet during the week!
