Just to clarify on some of the points Alex raises here:
-The duvet was clean but had been in a storage bag so perhaps didn't have a 'just washed' smell. We have dedicated guest bed linen and towels that are cleaned after use and stored until their next use.
-We now have made a sheet available for guests who would like to use it as hotel style counterpane to go between the duvet and the bed.
-The bed is a standard double, as stated in the listing.
-There was a small amount of rubbish in the bin that was overlooked when we prepared the flat. We've made sure to add this to the pre-stay checklist.
-As mentioned in the listing, this is our home and we rent it out when we're not there (we're both often away for work). This, from what I can gather, is the Airbnb concept - people renting their homes/rooms out to guests. Any future guests should bear this in mind if they prefer more of a hotel/guesthouse experience.
-If any future guests want to make an informed decision about whether our flat is in the right location for them they can consult a tube map on the TFL website. It all depends where you need to get to, I guess.
Thanks for the feedback. It's an ongoing learning experience and we welcome tips on how to improve things for future guests.
