i'm Audrey and love to travel. I will be happy to help you and explain my favorites places in the city!
See you soon!
The apartment is great, up several floors, but that was not a problem for us- added to the charm! It's a really spacious, modern apartment in a fantastic location - busy and full of life, but not noisy considering. We took our 7yr old daughter and it was a great location.
Audrey was great at communicating beforehand and all that was promised was delivered... All very smooth. Would recommend to friends.
Nice host, nice apartment, nice terrace, nice cat and nice neighborhood.
If there is any drawback, it must be that it was hard to find a place to store our stuff. Almost all the facilities were quite crowded, even a washing machine, fridge and stove.
Response from Audrey:
sorry Henrik i didn't make more space in the closet before i left....my mistake this time - i usually always do!
Audrey’s place proved to be the best base for a Barcelona adventure. The apartment is very comfortable, neat and stylish; the roof terrace with views over the city, barbecue and ping pong table is amazing and the Born neighborhood is just perfect with its maze of picturesque alleys (straight from the settings of the famous novels by Ildefonso Falcones and Carlos Ruiz Zafón), cool boutiques, restaurants and cafés (Be sure to check the Demasie with its lovely staff and best coffee on Princesa 28). The wonderful Santa Caterina food market is just around the corner, the beach is 15 minutes by foot and the always busy La Rambla and the Gothic quarter is just a stone’s throw away. Audrey was very nice, flexible and helpful upon our arrival, departure and during our stay in beautiful Barcelona.
Response from Audrey:
Thanks Helga, you and the family are welcome anytime!
Really great location for exploring Barcelona and a lovely modern apartment. Audrey met us there and explained everything we needed to know and gave us idea's for places to eat/drink. She even left us some water/tea/bread/cereal which was a nice touch. Would definitely stay here again.
Great host, great place. Really liked my stay!
Super cute place, hosts, and cat! Audrey's boyfriend was super helpful and I arrived, and the place was spotless. The area is close to the beach, and other cute areas. I totally recommend it!
Audrey's apartment is located in a great neibourhood - Born, very close to numerous small tapas restaurants, to the Picasso Museum and the Chocholate Museum.
Even if during our stay there were a few inconveniences like Ella the cat sleeping on the beds (and if you are not really "a cat person" that might be a bit ....), limited hot water for showers (Audrey promissed to put in a larger tank soon), lights out (some problems with the electric network of the building), we enjoyed Barcelona a lot.
Also Audrey was nice enough to leave water, coffee, tea and other products for our use during the stay, so I would recommend the apartment to anyone who would like to visit Barcelona and of course Audrey as a host.
Overall this is an excellent place. I strongly recommend it. Benoit and Audrey are really cool. My reservations are listed below, and they all are reservations I had *given the price.* Had the rent been cheaper, then no more reservations.
This apartment is an excellent location. Very easy to get to/from the airport - close to Estació de França & Plaza de Catalunya. Also close to lots of excellent culture, esp. the Museo Picasso and Santa Maria del Mar. It's also right in what I think is the best part of el Born - close to excellent restaurants and bars, the ocean, the giant beautiful mercado. But, it is not so close as to be loud or disgusting at night. Finally, C. Princessa is wide enough, and the apartment is on a corner, so there is plenty of bright sunlight.
The apartment is on the top floor, which is awesome.
The apartment is spacious and pretty light-filled.
The rug is awesome and soft and the stereo a nice touch. I really love cats, so it was awesome having Ella the cat around. But, she is not a particularly nice cat. She scratched the heck out of me. Eventually, though, we bonded and she let me pick her up. Purr.
*You will have to feed the cat.* (not a problem for us - in fact we liked that part, but some people may not want that responsibility)
There place has few drawbacks given its cost. There are some really nice hotels in the same area that are very close in price. So, that is their competition.
If everything were the same but he apartment 25 - 30 euros less/night, I'd give it 5 stars.
Here, then, are the drawbacks - remember this is all based on my expectations given what I paid, so if you do not care about these things, then by all means you should stay at this place:
1. The apartment was not ready when we arrived at 3 pm. I helped strip and then put new sheets on the bed.
2. There are a lot of rules for a place at this price. First, the beautiful Corian counters are also delicate. Don't spill anything on them without carefully cleaning them up! Second, if you spill even water on the floor, be sure to clean it up! It wil stain the floor! Third, remember to feed the cat! Fourth, the kitchen sink stains too so be careful! Basically: stay out of the kitchen.
3. The main bathroom lacks a shower curtain so you really had to sit in the tub and wash yourself to avoid getting the floor wet (because MAKE SURE THERE IS NO WATER ON THE FLOOR!). That sucked. The other bathroom has a shower that is over-designed and so looks cooler than it functions. Also, MAKE SURE THERE'S NO WATER ON THE FLOOR.
Overall, again, this place is great. But, for the money we paid, we were hoping for a bit fewer weird rules.
The apartment is very brightly and really very centrally situated. 1 minute to next metro station, only 10 minutes with the metro to the beach. We have lived in Barcelona for 5 weeks and have seen everything important and beautiful of the town. The people in Baca were very nice and helpful.
At the end of september we also were allowed to experience the town celebration. Barcelona "is moving" and everywhere party, party party. In the near of the appartment there are a lot of small bars and restaurants, it its nice.
I know the photographs look too good to be true but the flat is just as it looks in the pictures.
The area where the flat is located is vibrant and there are lots of good bars and restaurants nearby. I loved that I could also walk to the beach and go swimming in the morning.
We had a great time staying here.
Audrey is a great guest. The communication was very fast and easy.
And she left the apartment perfectly clean. Highly recommended.
Come back any time.
This was a pleasure to have Audrey and her partner in Gili! Very nice couple. Hope to see you again!
Audrey is a great host. She will take good care of you and for sure you will have the time of your life staying at her apartment! Nice host, nice flat well located.
