Hi, my name is Monica. I love to host people, travel and good company. Food and wine... Nice to meet you! :)
The agriturismo is nice and quiet, far from the cities. We had our first real rural Italian experience there and was far more than memorable. Although the hosts don't speak much of English we managed to communicate very well. I have to send special thanks to Angelo for going out of his way to help us when my dad locked the key in the car.
Rooms and the building are beautifully decorated and much suited to the surrounding area. We had dinner there for one night which was quite good. You definitely need a car to get there and move around. Finding it was not difficult with our GPS.
Perfect place for a quiet time. Very charming rooms.
Nicoletta is a lovely person and really cares about the wellbeing of her guests. Angelo cooks delicious meals typical of the Emiglia Romagna.
Right in front of the Locanda there are many hiking options, which we can really recommend.
All in all it was a pure revelation!
Loved the place. Bit hard to find. Wonderful food, incredibly friendly service above and beyond. Thank you!
This is an amazing place, breathtaking... you must go... I have no words to express...
Antica Locanda is a magical and quiet place with beautiful views. It's perfect when you want to escape from the city noise. The hosts were
very nice and treated us as important guests. The food served by Angelo was delicious!
We highly recommend it.
I am living in München, and after a exhaustive semester, I could relax. really recharge my batteries in Antica Locanda. I ate wonderful italian food, saw wonderful landscape!! Everything there is made with heart and soul! I really recomend!
What a great find! We stayed here just one night but it was a highpoint of our trip to Italy in terms of relaxation and great food! The house is nicely restored but maintains its historical presence and the countryside is really picturesque. We would highly recommend this place for both families and couples.
My roommate and I stayed for one night at Antica Locanda and we loved every minute of it! The area was beautiful-snowcapped mountains all around. Angelo was so sweet and picked us up at the Vignola train station. Like everyone says, the food was the best I had in all of Italy. Angelo's wife taught us how to play Italian cards, and we had fun climbing up the huge mountain right outside where you can get an amazing view. We met Ricardo and had so much fun learning some Italian words, and teaching some english slang! Would go back in a heart beat! OH. and literally the best parmesan you'll ever have. Much love.
If you want to have a true rural experience in Emilia-Romagna region in the hills, this is something you don't want to miss. Although Monica actually doesn't stay in Montalbano and we didn't actually met her, Angelo, the owner is a very good host and chef. His rich life experience will make your journey much pleasant. The location is very close to Florence (1hour and a half), Bologna (45 minutes) and Modena (45 minutes). I recommend going to Maranello for Ferrari Museum as well.
Wi-fi worked well.
Thank you Angelo!
very nice to see Nicoletta and Angelo...and the goats. again..sorry to miss you monica...thanks again for a great lunch and your company...love the place it is a complete remedy after the craziness of a city...complete peace and quiet and good food and for nature lovers the woods are spectacular...this is my third year back to this space...love it ..thanks again Nicoletta and Angelo and Monica.
Monica and her husband, Nicola, were awesome guests!! They were very thoughtful and communicative, and my house was spotless after they left. Highly recommended - I would rent to them again in a second!
Alberto is easygoing and talkative.
It will be an enjoyable experience to host him.
Monica is super! AllaCanonica is by far one of my top 3 places in Italy to spend few very relaxing days and it's close to everything if you want some "action"!
