I enjoy giving my guests a little bit of insider scoop so you that they may make the most of their experience in Paris. Then I let them do their thing.
A lovely apartment in a great part of Paris. Every evening I'd walk up to Sacré Cœur for the workout and the view! Everything you need is in the area and everything else is a quick and easy train ride away. Mary is a generous host who went well out of her way to make sure I was happy and settled. When the apartment is great and the host is generous, you have a perfect Airbnb experience. Thanks, Mary!
We had a great time in Mary's apartment! She was there to welcome us and give us great advice about both the neighbourhood and our Paris in general. She also gave a thorough explanation about the ins and outs of the apartment. She was accessible during our stay if we had any questions. The wifi was very fast and reliable.
The apartment is very nice and spacious with a lot of natural light. It's beautifully decorated and has a lot of character. It's very quiet; we could leave the windows open with no problem. Mary left the kitchen well stocked with basic essentials so it was easy and pleasant to cook there. Be aware that while there is a stove (gas!), there is no oven. However, there is an oven/toaster function in the microwave and that worked fine for us during our stay. Also be aware that you may need to use a stool to reach things if you're short like us. We cooked so the dishwasher was definitely an advantage.
The bathroom was large, well-lit, and had plenty of hot water. The bed was very comfortable and Mary had left us plenty of room to hang all our stuff. The drapes are thick so you can choose to sleep in, or open them to let the sun in.
The location was great for us: very close to the metro stations, but not in tourist central. We walked to Montmartre several times. There are several grocery stores and good bread/pastry stores very close and the open air market had good produce (and even a fish stand). The metro lines made it easy to get to both the airport and the centre of town. We were very happy that it was on the 2nd French, 3rd american floor: it wasn't too many stairs after a long day of walking.
All in all, Mary did everything she could to make this apartment a wonderful place for us to vacation. It had everything we could want for our stay. We loved being there and would highly recommend it to anyone.
Paris would not have been quite so great without Mary!
Her description of her flat was perfect. Her communication regarding arrival was very helpful - she made sure to meet us at a local establishment and walk us to her apartment. Lots of very specific information about the metro and navigating around the city. She basically covered all the bases. We are so happy to have found her.
The apartment was darling and very comfortable. Warm and cozy.
Mary took me around to the street market with her which was so sweet. We bought fruit and veggies and pastries.
Just can't say enough positive things about our stay.
Thank you so much, Mary.
Mary's place is clean, spacious and lovely. Conveniently located near metro, it's quick to get to other parts of Paris, and the heart of Montmatre is walking distance. Mary has got everything I needed and I've enjoyed living like a local, having drinks in a bar, going to cinema with her neighbor. Mary is super friendly, knowledgeable about Paris and I liked her instantly. I highly recommend staying in her place, and I'll definitely come back.
My daughter and I were very comfortable in Mary's home. It has oodles of charm and is easily accessible by public transit. Mary is prompt responding to queries and provides much useful information for Paris and her local area. Merci Mary, a la prochaine!
My stay at Mary's place was absolutely perfect! I couldn't have asked for a better host for my first airbnb experience.
The bedroom and apartment was exactly what I had expected after looking at photos, and Mary seemed like an old friend. We got along beautifully, and she had breakfast with me two times during my stay. She had great advice for places to see and how to get around town, and she let me borrow a book of street maps that came in handy at least once or twice.
There are metro stations very close by, meaning you can get anywhere in Paris easily from the apartment. I chose to walk to various locations, visiting Sacre Coeur, the red light district, a cemetery, and several shopping locations on foot.
I loved that the bedroom had a huge floor to ceiling window that you can open right up to let the breeze in, and the bed was large and comfortable.
Being my first time in Paris, it was great to have an apartment like Mary's to use as a home base. I really felt like I was living in Paris instead of just visiting.
There were all kinds of little shops to visit just a few blocks from the apartment, including bakeries, grocery stores, gift shops, cafes, beauty salons, and more. I was blown away by how convenient the metro system is and how quickly you can reach your destination just by hopping a train.
I highly recommend staying at Mary's place if you'd like to experience Paris. She speaks both French and English and will make you feel right at home. One of the best travel experiences I've had yet, thank you so much Mary.
Mary's house is very nice cosy apartment in the northern part of paris . It takes around 15 minutes with the metro (2 minute walk) to get you to the city center.
Mary was very friendly and nice to welcome us before she left. She has plenty of paris suggestions if you want! We recommend this place!
Que c est charmant chez Mary! L appartement est très agréable, et très bien placé!: on est en bas de Montmartre! Mary a contribué à la réussite de notre escapade parisienne tant par ses conseils que son hospitalité : les petits français reviendront !!
My stay with Mary was great. She has a nice, clean and bright apartment, the room was very comfortable - warm, clean, big and bright (nice big window). Th bathroom and shower was also good - enough space, clean and lovely hot shower. Mary is a lovely person, she was freindly and very helpful with any questions I asked. She had a great welcome book full of things to do while in Paris, maps and phrase books I could use during my stay. Mary's apartment is conveniently located, it is very close (i.e. walking distance) to metro lines, restaurants, cafes supermarket, pharmacy, ATM and also Sacre Coeur and Montmartre. I would stay with Mary again :)
Mary is a great guest! A pleasure to host her and her friends.
I had a very lovely communication and meeting with Mary B and her guests, and I felt very confident leaving the apartment in their care. They took great care of it, and I can highly recommend them as guests.
Mary was a great guest, good communication beforehand, really friendly and polite. A+ guest.
I ve been very pleased hosting Mary B and her friend. Highly recommended. Mary thank you very much for everything it would be pleasure for me welcoming you again.
Mary is a fabulous guest. I had a good inclination when I saw how many great reviews she had when renting out her own place in Paris. She certainly lived up to those expectations. I would strongly recommend her if you get the chance to hear from her!
I wish all guests were like Mary! She was smart, interesting, friendly, and polite. It was wonderful to have her positive energy and outgoing personality in my apartment. Mary, who herself is an AirBnB host in Paris, also kept the place clean and tidy. And while she only stayed one night, she even bought me flowers to say thank you!
Stay longer next time.
j ai beaucoup apprecié mary et je la recommande !
Since Mary B moved to Paris from Dallas, where we met in 2000, I've had many occasions to stay in her cozy and funky flat. Although not a Paris native, Mary B is one of the best Paris guides I know. Her clean, bright and comfortable flat in the 18th arrondissement is located in a quiet street but very near several metro stations and various amenities, such as grocery shops and restaurants. You'll first walk through a lovely courtyard before going up two flights of stairs and stepping into Mary B's Chateau. And you'll feel welcome right away. She'll give you great tips on what to see and do, how to get places, where to catch live music, what temporary art exhibitions not to miss and where to find hidden gem cafes and restos. Mary is simply and genuinely a great host. You'll love staying at her Castle.
