I am a filmmaker and screenwriter, interested in visual arts and all that jazz, and have lived in London all my life.
My girlfriend and I stayed at Tessa's apartment for one week. We really fell in love with it, the interior makes you instantly feel like home. The kitchen was fully equipped, the bed was extremely comfortable and the bookshelf in the hallway was filled with books worth reading.
The Location is excellent for sightseeing and travelling through London the Underground station 'Barbican' is within a 10 minute walk and you've also got a lot of bus stations.
If you are hungry you have the 'whitecross food market' and a wide selection of bars and restaurants right around the corner, a Waitrose is also just across the street.
The communication with Tessa worked without any problems. She was there when we arrived to show us the flat and gave us some tips for things to do.
All in all it was a perfect stay and I'd book it again.
Thanks Hannes -
So glad you both enjoyed it - you're fab guests and it was great to have you to stay!
very best wishes
I was staying in Tessa's apartment for a week by myself. This was a great and truly local experience, living in an authentic British flat, in a very central location, surrounded by many cool dining and art places (you don't have a chance to live in such places with piano, black&white photos in frames and full wall bookshelves). Tessa was a great and responsive host, so absolutely recommended!
Thanks Kate - great to have you stay! - Tessa
Great stay once again!
Tess was a wonderful host and we throughly enjoyed our stay. If i was to return to London this would be where i stayed. Great location and lovely home to stay in.
Tessa is very hospitable and has a wonderful and wonderfully situated home. I look forward to returning.
Tessa made me feel at home immediately. She messaged me prior to my arrival and made sure our schedules worked out so that she could meet me at a good hour. I told her that I had an event to attend early in the evening, and she made sure to meet me at the apartment with plenty of time so that I could attend. I greatly appreciated this. When I met Tessa, she was friendly, very warm and welcoming, and we even had tea and a nice conversation before I left for the evening :)
The Accommodations: PERFECT. BTW - the bed was extremely comfortable and the blankets, pillows, and comforters were very warm and soft. Additionally, Tessa had adapters for charging phones and other devices. This was a nice touch.
The location: It was great. Actually, for me, it was less then ten minutes from where my event was. There is a grocery store at the end of the block, and there are SEVERAL places to eat, drink, and visit within a few minutes walk. In fact, the Old Street tube station is about five minutes away if you walk briskly :) And the area around the stations has everything you would need.
Thank you so much, Joe - it was a real pleasure to host you!
Great communication. Everything went very smoothly!
Hostess delightful and accommodating. Great location, convenient to a variety of food services, easy walking to two Tube lines; comfortable apartment - quiet, comfortable; fine internet connection. Tessa responded immediately to my questions beforehand, made the effort to accommodate my early arrival, left fruit, helpful notes.
I had a fabulous stay in London. The flat was very comfortable and as described. Tessa is a great host and in a great location for getting around London. The neighbourhood has everything you need and feels very safe. Thank you very much for a lovely stay!
Tessa was extremely helpful throughout the booking process and the stay. It wasn't me who stayed there but a colleague and they said the flat was perfect for work near by (at barbican). Would recommend to anyone booking
Tessa was a perfect guest, I have been very glad to know her, and I hope to see her again in Lucca for a longer stay. I recommend her as guest to everybody
Because Tessa has her own listings in London, she and her partner Will know what it means to host strangers in your private space: they were greatly respectful of Laura’s “lived-in” haven down at the seaside in Camogli, and left everything in perfect order, observing the checkin/out times and the handling of the house keys with our friend Fiorella, the pasta lady next door. Thank you Tessa and Will for your visit.
Tessa and her partner were charming, considerate guests who left their room immaculate!
I was very happy to have them hosted.
I stayed with Tess for a week in January 2012 (before she was on AirBNB - hence the reference instead of a review). She's an excellent hostess, very easy to talk with and she knows a lot about the area having lived here her whole life. The flat is very nice as well - the twin bed is quite comfortable and there's plenty of space to relax. The views are also very good. The location is outstanding with lots of big sites withing walking distance, and easy tube/bus access. The food market that pops up every weekday is great for lunch too. I'd definitely recommend Tess and her flat!
I got to know Tess through a friend during my first trip to London in December 2011. My boyfriend and I actually stayed with her at the apartment for 10 days and it was wonderful! Tess is a great person, warm and kind. And an excellent host at that. Before our arrival, she prepared an itinerary for us complete with directions and recommendations enough to occupy our stay! Feel free to ask her for tips and suggestions for things to do in London, she knows it all! (: The apartment itself is very cozy and quaint, plus you'll get a good workout twice a day! We had a great stay with Tess and we're sure you will too!
I have known Tessa for at least 12 years, and she has been and is a very loyal and trust worthy and good friend.I highly recommend Tessa, great personality and great to chat with. She has lived in London all her life so she is very informative about places and things to do in the big city.
