DO NOT USE! DO NOT book with this man- he is a LIAR, a LIABILITY, and heartless. We rang and emailed up confirm our booking a week and a day before. We then travelled for 50 hours to get there.
However when he met us at Korcula harbour he took us to the WRONG, much smaller and inferior flat. We had booked a private house. He then DUMPED us there and left. He said he'd sort it out and lied, saying he was waiting for a key. He then stopped answering the phone and ignored us. We called him repeatedly (over 60 times that day)- NOT ONE REPLY was received. His agency LAUGHED at us when we told them what had happened. Later when we tried to complain to get some money back (as we were in a MUCH smaller property), they laughed and said they were all friends so wouldn't do anything. The person who actually owned the properly we had been dumped in, tried to make us pay AGAIN, and LAUGHED when we said we'd already paid Anthony. He then came round and told us we should complain about Anthony, as it's happened several times before.
My boyfriend has recently been seriously ill in hospital, and we had paid and booked what looked like a lovely house hoping for a rest. This was STRESSFUL, DECEITFUL, and extremely unprofessional. DO NOT USE! As you WILL be disappointed.
Our stay was a little bit adventurous. On calling Antony the previous day of our arrival, he said that our reservation was fine. Antony picked us up at the main bus station of Korcula which was very nice, however while being on the way to Lumbarda (the village 8km away from Korcula) he told us (after we have asked where we would go since the aparment is in Korcula) that we would be staying in another apartment. The reason was rather dubious and he said that the entire apartment house had to be unoccupied for some days. I would have expected and prefered an explanation before jumping into the taxi. The other apartment was nice from the inside, however, still under construction from the outside.
Nonetheless, he gave us a scooter for free to be able to drive to Korcula and gave us price (website hidden) this perspective he was honest. However, on passing by the apartment we were supposed to stay in, we could clearly see that is was occupied.
Lumbarda and the whole Korkula island is a a great place where to spend your summer vacation!
Though Antony Jurjevich is not the best host I've met, all in all our holiday was perfect but only because of the beauty of the island and the wonderful people we've met!
We've traveled for more than 16 hours with 2 kids (2 and 7 years) and when we got to Lumbarda, Antony took us to another property, not the one we've rented and tried to lie on us that they've renovated since our last talk, 3 weeks ago: we had only one bathroom, no washing machine and placed at the second floor which was not proper for the small kid ( the property we've rented initially had no stairs, had 2 bathrooms ,as we were 2 families with one kid each, and washing machine ; we have considered all of these when renting the house for 10 days with the kids); I've tried to discuss with Antony but he left, did not answer my calls nor my emails! Never heard of him since then!!!!!!
We talked to our new host and she moved us to another apartment with enough bathrooms but no washing machine and we stayed there only 9 nights and the 10th night we had to move again because there were other tourists who have really rented that app;
All in all, i do not recommend renting any property from Antony as he proved to be unrespectful, liar and unprofessional ; He has a travel agency in Lumbarda, he's not the host of the properties posted on the site and you might never know if you'll really get the place you rent!
We had an amazing time in Korčula! Ante and Željko (plus his kind wife and dog Lina) were all really nice and helpful, made us feel at home and made our stay really perfect!
The appartment (Soline Apt.) is actually directly by the sea, the view from the terrace is postcard compatible! The whole appartment was very clean, the bed comfortable and the kitchen well equipped so we could cook our own dinners. There are smaller supermarkets in 10-15 minutes walking distance, and we especially recommend to get vegetables and fruit from one of the small stalls you'll find several in close distance.
To Korčula city it's a little walk of about 30 minutes, to the ferryport (Domince) it's even less. To Lumbarda city, it's an adventurous and beautiful 45minutes walk along the cost. We took hikingtrips all over this part of the island, often in connection with a dip in the sea! If you like to hike, we can also recommend the trail up Sv. Illja on Peljesac peninsula - it's hard but it's worth it! Or you rent a scooter (Ante organized one for us to rent for a couple of days) and explore the island on wheels.
Have fun in Korčula! We allready miss it!
Such a beautiful experience. Jakor and Antony picked us up from the bus station at night. Very friendly and helpful.
The apartment was gorgeous. Jakor kept dropping in to check if we were ok and offered to drive us anywhere in Korcula we wanted!
We had one of the best experiences in our 45 day Europe trip here.
The apartment has a really nice view of the town, and is only around a five minute walk (up a hill if that matters to you) from the center of town. An odd layout at the top of a house with multiple other renters without any sort of flow, but it was clean and close by.
We arrived at 11pm and it was difficult contacting Antony. When we finally did he sent an assistant (who was a great guy) who did not know where to put us since they had overbooked our place. We went to his house and had a drink while we waited for Antony to finally appear. They found us another place which was nice, close to the town and to the beach and we enjoyed our stay. Antony was helpful but not very professional especially considering that it was late at night and we wasted 2 hours trying to find a bed! I do consider that it was in the end one of my favorite places to stay in Croatia because the town was so relaxed, not as many tourists and more authentic. Also the house had a little terrace overlooking the sea and the town that was great for our breakfasts!
Nice clean apartment in great location. Very friendly and helpful host. Great view of the city from the balcony. Korcula was my favorite place that I visited in my 2 weeks in Croatia.
This is a great spot with everything you need close by. The room is simple and clean, the bed is comfortable and the AC works, and it was very around the place. There is a beautiful sandy beach about 5 minute walk and many other beaches and islands to explore nearby. The town is about 10 minutes walk and has everything you need to cook your own meals and buy supplies, including a great fruit/veg market, a full grocery store, bakery, post office, bank, etc. You can even buy fresh fish at the docks if you are there at the right time! There are also lots of restaurants in town if you prefer to eat out and Korcula town is also very close and has lots more.
Anthony was a great host and was very helpful with everything we needed.
The only minor issue with this place is that the wireless internet is not real wifi as you would expect, but a USB internet stick that you get from Anthony. It's a bit slow and can only be used with one computer at a time but it did the trick for us. Just good to be aware of.
