The Blueskye Crofthouse was really a special place. We stayed for six thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing days, long enough for us to get a sense of the history and natural rhythms of the island. The cottage was quite roomy for the three of us and could easily accommodate six persons. The cottage is itself quite old and charming, but it has all the modern conveniences that made our stay very comfortable. We enjoyed the morning arrival of the chickens who greeted us in the yard, as well as watching the tides roll in and out during the course of the day. Walking along the shore at low tide was wonderful. Graham, who lives next door with his wife Liz, met us as planned and welcomed us to the cottage with logs already burning in the fireplace. He gave us excellent suggestions for restaurants in Broadford (we enjoyed dinners at several local restaurants, including Red Skye, Creepers, and Harbor View - El Puerto). Graham and Liz also made sure we were well-provisioned as we arrived with milk, eggs, fruit, bread, cereals and other items, all of which we greatly appreciated. The crofthouse is just a few minutes from the bridge connecting Skye to the mainland, but is off the main road and is very quiet and peaceful. We were able easily to explore by car the many spectacular sites on Skye. On one such excursion, we returned during an afternoon shower to find that Liz had kindly taken in the laundry we had left out to dry that morning. We will definitely be recommending the crofthouse to friends who are thinking of visiting Scotland.
We had a rememberable time at Angus's cottage. Angus and his wife are just awesome hosts. They were so kind and very accommodating. They filled up the fridge with lots of food and drinks. We would love to come back to stay at their cottage again. Thank you Angus and all the very best.
Arrived after a long drive to a wonderful cosy house. Everything is as described, hosts have kindly provided some basic necessities to start our stay. The Crofthouse is in a great location for exploring Skye, close to Broadford with shops etc. The friendly hens will keep young (and older) kids excited. Highly recommended.
Loved the cozy cottage right near the water! It fit all six of us perfectly & the beds were so comfy. The host family was wonderful & we would stay there again. We highly recommend it to anyone in the Skye area!
Thanks folks and for the kilt pin which arrived today. I'll wear it proudly the next time I am in full Scottish dress. Slainte!
We had such a wonderful stay at the Crofthouse! Angus and his wife made us feel so welcome, and the house was very comfortable.
Angus and his wife were wonderful hosts. When we arrived at their beautiful house, we found everything sorted out for us and even food in the fridge! And apart from the house and the hosts, the area itself was absolutely stunning. An all round great experience!
Angus and his wife Liz were an absolute delight. When we arrived (thanks to their detailed directions), there was fire burning in the master bedroom, as well as food in the fridge and cupboards! The croft house itself is cozy and perfectly situated to explore the shoreline.
It was delightful to have Angus stay at my bed and breakfast. Great conversations and a fun exchange of cultural information. It would be wonderful to have him come stay again another time.
Angus was a great guest. He had lots of work to do while he was here, but we very much enjoyed talking to him when we saw him!
I had to go out of town before Angus arrived and did not return until after he had checked out, so I did not meet him personally. My son was here and really enjoyed meeting him. He was friendly and had a good sense of humor- I know because we exchanged texts and he was great about a minor comedy of errors that occurred as I tried to manage everything from afar- a comedy in which my two cats played roles. Sorry I missed you Angus-- hope you enjoy the rest of your stay on this side of the Pond!
