This is the second time we stayed at Yamna's. The first time we didn't get to meet her. This time we did. Yamna is a great host. She brought us pastries from the boulangerie just below her flat. She was very helpful and accomodating.
The area is in a strategic location. There is a direct bus to the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower. Also a direct bus to Gard Du Nord. There are many interesting cafes around. And every Saturday morning, there is a market in the area.
The next time we are in Paris, we will still stay at Yamna's place.
Yamna was an exceptional host. We were in the studio during the 2015 Paris Terrorist Attacks, and she went above and beyond in making sure we felt safe. Furthermore, she made sure we actually WERE safe, keeping us up-to-date with the French government's warnings and advice, since we did not speak French. The check-in and check-out processes also went very smoothly and allows optimal flexibility for the guests.
The studio itself is impeccably located in relation to the metro. It is literally a 20 second walk. It certainly is not located in the city center, but in Paris (I think) it's more to have easy access to public transportation than to any touristy site. It has a very small kitchen area that is stocked with coffee and tea in addition to plates, cups and silverware. The bathroom a bit more Parisian than we were used to, although nothing short of everything we needed. Any minor flaw in Yamna's studio is truly negligible, especially considering how phenomenal Yamna was as a host, and how seamless the whole experience was.
Recomendamos!
Unfortunately I had a bad experience staying at Yamna's. My first message soon after the booking describing our needs for the schedule we were running, wasn't replied until I insisted with a last message a day before travelling. She only described the way to travel to the flat and where to collect keys. We never met her personally. The flat wasn't ready on our arrival despite specifying our needs to have the flat ready in the morning. It has a toilet where you can't flush toilet paper in, so basically you have to wipe your ass and throw it in the bin next to it (?). Open the tap of the kitchen sink (it's smaller than a utility cupboard) and water started leaking on the floor, this caused a leak in the downstairs neighbour's flat. When we came back in the afternoon the bed linen was laid at the feet of the bed, and on the bed there was only a bedspread (?). Not great to arrive 2am after a gig to have to make your own bed. For our surprise she sent me a message at 10am the next morning asking us to leave at 12pm! when we specified we would be leaving at around 3pm. Communication terrible!. All these happened in only one day! Complained about it all and only got justifications and all my complains disregarded. I paid £71 for that crap, that is absolutely no value for money, If I'd had known I could have paid a bit more for a hotel and be comfortable and flush toilet paper in the soil stack like civilised people. I have been in better flats in Paris, way better attended and personalised and paid much less than that. Think twice before booking.
Paris was our first stop on our interrailing trip (and our first Airbnb experience!) and it was absolutely perfect. We unfortunately didn't get to meet our host Yamna, but she was always there on the other side of the phone to help us.
Her directions for the metro lines were perfect, and once we got off the metro the apartment was less than a minute away. I can't remember how long it took to get the "centre" of Paris (Catacombs,Eiffel Tower etc) but it didn't take as long as we initially thought it would. The apartment is on the fifth floor and there's no elevator,so if you're carrying big suitcases/hiking rucksacks like us - take your time climbing these steps! The apartment is a cosy little studio flat with a (very) comfortable bed, pillows and duvet. We weren't sure if towels were provided (which they were) so we brought our own,and there was also plenty of tea and coffee available. On top of that,Yamna left us a beautiful bottle of wine to welcome us to her lovely city. All in all it was a fantastic first Airbnb experience!
If you're looking for food,I would highly recommend the Mexican restaurant that is downstairs - the food arrives very quickly and it is very very good! Cafe/bar Edith Piaf is also a lovely place to sit outside and have a drink, watching the people go by. If you want some nice baguettes/pastries etc, across the street from the metro stop is an artisan bakery - you won't regret it.
1.1.We got a little gift, which was very nice and the host explained us the neighborhood a bit and provided several guides. The location of the flat was very ok, because close to the metro but it was not in the city center. The studio was clean and all good. Kitchen is small but enough. The bathroom was clean but also small and the shower and the toilet wasn’t very luxury. One flaw was the internet, most of the time it worked but not always and sometimes pretty bad.
Yamna was an excellent host and communicative. She met us in person at the airbnb and gave us tips on the city and highlights to visit. We really enjoyed her restaurant suggestion, Aux Ors, that is located near the apartment as well as the excellent bakery (literally next to the airbnb, but cash only). There is a no-fee ATM/Cashpoint a 30 second walk, so the cash-only issue is not a real concern. Yamna left a bottle of wine as a welcome to Paris, which we very much enjoyed! The airbnb was exactly as described (the stairs are no joke, so be forewarned). The metro is located in the square outside the apartment, and is by far the best method to explore the city. We would highly recommend staying at Yamna's flat!
Great location, so close to the subway. Also in a non tourist area, which was a nice experience feeling more a part of every day Paris.
Yamna , family and friends were a super hosts , very friendly and cominucative. They have taken care of the villa as their own and we were impresed of how clean and organized they left the villa. We highly recommend Yanma for any other villa she would like to rent and we will be welcome back anytime.
Bonsoir Yamna. Pouvez vous me rappeller ou me contacter par mail dès que possible. Bonne soirée.
