We enjoyed the authentic Hawaiian furnishings and decor of the Tiki Tower. The view of the ocean was as advertised and we used the provided telescope to try to view whales. The location was very convenient within walking distance to the Princeville shopping village to pick up groceries, enjoy meals, use the library and buy gifts.
The Tiki Tower is a beautiful, tranquil home. The layout of the 3 story home features a lovely ocean view at the top; Nearly 360 degrees of windows create a peaceful flow of ocean air and sounds throughout.
The home is immaculately maintained, thoughtfully decorated and well-furnished. The kitchen supplies all appear to be new, and the linens are high quality. Everything you need for a trip to the beach is supplied -- coolers, chairs, towels, boards.
Short walk to peaceful Anini Beach and also convenient to Princeville shopping. It was a pleasure to call it home for a few days!
A nice home with views of the ocean from the top level common area. Bedrooms are very comfortable. We were a party of 4 with a 12 year old girl and an 82 year old grandma so being in the princeville resort area was great. You can walk to Aninni Beach and to the Princeville shopping center. There's a nice pool on the grounds. Hanalei is a five minute drive. This is property is exactly how it is described by the owner. We were very happy.
Steve was very responsive on email, answered questions about the house and things to do in the area. He emailed a great "welcome pack" with all the details of the house and local attractions. A great host all around.
The house itself was clean, had fun decor, and was spacious for five of us (could have fit 1-2 more). Beautiful view of the ocean. The house also has some beach gear like snorkels, beach chairs, boogie boards and even a few surf boards. That was unexpected and a total bonus for our group. Kitchen was nice, had everything we needed. Overall, really nice and felt like home while we were there.
A note on Princeville - the surrounding area is a planned resort community, so is not as "authentic" as one could be on Kauai. That being said, we knew that coming into our visit, so no surprises there. It's a 10min drive from Hanalei, which is where we spent most of our time. Great restaurants, a natural food store, an AMAZING beach. It's a good central location for the North Shore. It also was about 10min from Anini beach, we went for some beautiful runs on the beach and it's very pristine and secluded.
If you don't mind a resort-like location and are looking for a reasonably priced home-base to experience the north shore of Kauai, I would highly recommend Steve and the Tiki Tower.
The place was awesome! Tons of room and fully supplied with everything that you need to have a great vacation! Would reccomend Tiki Tower to anyone traveling to Kauai!!!!!
