Sonia's place is great to stay whether in SF for a short few days or a longer period of time. Beds are comfortable and our room had its own fridge, microwave and sink which was really handy. The communal kitchen has two powerful cookers and various utensils. Also the location is ideal for walking to Union Square and accessing various areas of SF. Would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend
Very nice hostel !! In the center of San Francisco. Everything was clean, and the people in the hostel were very welcoming.
I had a great stay in SF and recommend a stay at Sonia's flat:)
Perfect place to crash for a while, I'm quite pleased. The room was exactly as advertised. Quite small, but very clean and modern. The bathrooms were very clean (except what little can be expected after a couple of people having used the shower before you in the morning). Furthermore, I don't think there was a time when both bathrooms on my floor were occupied, even in the morning. The sink and microwave in the room were really useful too. Sonia was a great host, case in point: the futon in the bottom bunk was quite thin and uncomfortable, but I asked Sonia for an extra futon and she got one to me the same day.
The few cons I can find are that the neighborhood, while very convenient, is kinda boring and a little sketchy (esp. 6th Street), and that someone broke the shower head in one of the showers which went unfixed for a while.
The place is exactly as described. Perfect location for walking around , getting to BART and to bus stations. The neighborhood has a lot
homeless people, but we never had a problem. The room is small but very functional. The bathrooms were always kept clean and had no problems. The kitchen was great with lots of light, we made our breakfast there every morning.
The beds are not that comfortable though if you're going to be there for a long time. The wifi went out for a few days, but it was more if a problem if arranging someone to fix it. The doors use magnetic cards to open, so we are told not to keep them next to our phones. Our neighbors card was demagnetized and had to replace. We had a hard time keeping track of both cards and were locked out once, but were helped within a few hours.
Overall good experience especially for the price.
I have spent one month at Stay in SF while I was looking for an apartment in the city. The place is great! The room is small but very convenient and clean. This is perfect for one person. However the couch is really not comfortable. The kitchen and bathrooms are always available and clean. The location is close to public transportation. I would definitely recommand it!
Very nice accomodation. Conveniently located. I spent one month there and I can't complain about anything.
It is true that it looks, feels and is more like a hostel but if you're looking for a room in the center of SF, you won't find a better deal.
I greatly recommend it!
I stayed at Stay In SF from the beginning of April to the end of May, 2014 for two months. It is conveniently located, 10-15 minutes walk from Civic Center Station. There are so many homeless people on the street in between Stay In SF and the station but the area was safe enough. There are coffee shops, bars, restaurants and a small grocery store nearby.
The room was very small but modern and functional with a bunk bed, a sink, a microwave, a mini fridge, a TV, good Wifi, a table and a chair, drawers and hangers for clothes. The bunk bet is not the most comfortable. The walls and the door of the room were thin so you hear noise from the other rooms and the hallway but at most of the nights it was quiet.
Sonia answered my e-mail quickly and Jimmy, the property manager answered my phone calls in the early morning and at late night with questions. Sonia's mom, who cleans and take care of bathrooms, common kitchen/dining area and laundry area, was very lovely and sweet. The common areas including bathrooms, the kitchen/dining area and the laundry area, were kept clean all the time. I had no problem with other residents.
This is a great place to stay in San Francisco if you are on budget.
I stayed here for a month while taking a class. The room was exactly as described and comfortable. I had no trouble getting into the bathrooms in the morning and they were always clean. I would recommend staying here.
We had a good experience in SOMA place in San Francisco. Good location and safe.
The problem is that they do not have parking service if you come by car. All the rest is good.
Definitely not your typical AirBnB location, more like a private room at a hostel. But it's exactly as advertised and in some ways nicer than a private room in someone's house. I was out there for 3 days, trying to arrange a place to stay long term, and I've got to say, this place exceeded my expectations. The beds are alright, not amazing, but the bath facilities are immaculate, the rooms are incredibly functional, and the provided kitchen is excellent. Would definitely recommend this place to others.
