I spent most of the last decade living and working in Central America. After graduating from the Wharton School at UPenn in 2000, I joined the Peace Corps, where I spent two years as an Economic Development volunteer in western Honduras. I then spent a year serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer in North Philadelphia and, in 2005, I moved my 2-yr old daughter and myself to Leon, Nicaragua to work for a small NGO focused on community development and intercultural exchange.
Having fallen love with Leon, I decided to purchase a small piece of property in Barrio Sutiava, which is where we have lived our entire time in Nicaragua. The house was designed with the help of an architect friend and took about a year and a half to finish. I have been thrilled with the result and am confident you will find the house as warm and pleasant as my daughter and I do.
We moved back to the US in summer 2011 and are now happily opening our home in Leon to other world travelers.
