So happy i decided to book sweet little cabin, I needed to get out of the city and going on my own on a little retreat was so heavenly. The dogs in the property are so cute, took dippy to a beautiful hike up the mountain, bathed under the black and serene sky, I really enjoyed this place and i will definitely will be coming back soon!
Amazing. This place is something else. We stayed in a yurt and the campfire side cabin and would have stayed longer if we had more time. The guys are great and the dogs are too :) Nothing but positive words to say about the place
My stay was absolutely perfect. Ken kept in great communication and was super sweet throughout my short stay. Kaleb the groundskeeper was very helpful and accommodating as well! The cabin is quaint and sweet; and location beautiful. I will be returning!
This spot was adorable! The cabin was cozy and bathing in HOT water under the open sky was so lovely. We ended up being offered to stay another night and we slept in one of the tent cabins...also amazing.
Kaleb and Krystal were very nice and were quick to bring wood for the fire and give us a overview of the land layout and even some facts about the area.
while we didn't meet ken, he was so very nice, and made sure everything was perfect. Very grateful for him to share this space, and be so hospitable!
highly recommend this spot for retreats and get aways...and hope to be back soon.
Ken was really nice and welcoming. He had just finished a food tasting event when we arrived and gave us a big plate of food, which was really tasty. There were two dogs on site who were super sweet. The cabin was quaint and cute and I liked the wood stove to heat the space. The property itself is pretty nice as its tucked in the trees and you have a great view of the sunset over the lake.
The reviews are all true - Ken is a fantastic host and the cabin that he built is beautiful! We did a lot of cooking and grilling. There is a fully functional kitchen stocked with kitchenware and a smoker grill which we used to make steaks and ribs. Watching the sunset from the upper deck and sitting by the fire pit at the end of each day was relaxing and romantic. While the property is in a secluded area high up in the mountain, there are likely other people on the property, as the description states. This was a great place to stay for the weekend getaway that we were looking for.
Wonderful Stay! My husband, myself, 2 kids and our German Shepard stayed in the sweet little cabin. It's the perfect cross between camping and "cabin-ing". It had a fun camping vibe with the campfire, outdoor kitchen and bathroom yet the luxuries of hot water, a flushing toilet and a cozy warm place to sleep. The kitchen has everything you need to cook with, pans, skillets, tongs, etc. but you do need to bring staples such as oil, salt, sugar and foil along with your food.
The open-air bath tub was the highlight of the trip! Wow, taking a HOT bath under the stars was quite a treat! Inside the cabin itself was a tight fit for 4 people but we slept comfortably and the beds were very comfortable! We paid for 4 people which also gave us access to the canvas tent next door which gave us a little more room to spread our things. The kids could have slept in there which would have given us more room in the cabin but choose to use it as a play tent instead. Ken was very accommodating and brought clean towels and fire wood each day.
The resident dog Dippy was very sweet and laid back. He sweetly hung out with us and never over stepped his bounds or begged for food or anything. He was so sweet and he got along great with our dog too. My kids thought he looked like the dragon dog from The Never Ending Story :) The generator power lasted quite a while each night, I believe it turned off around 4 am each night which was convenient for recharging phones and such.
Do note that the little cabin is not on the property by itself, it is there along with a larger cabin and multiple canvas tents and yurts. It is set up for reunions and retreats. So while we had our own kitchen and campfire at our cabin, there is also a community area near the large cabin (not far from where we stayed) where there are open-air showers, an additional toilet, a larger campfire and BBQ's, this is near the grass area shown in the photos.
Also keep in mind it is quite a drive up a winding dirt road, the road is very easy to drive on, not too windy, rocky or steep but it does take some time to get up and down the hill (about 15/20 min). While Clear lake is right down the hill, it is not swim-able so we took the kids/dog swimming at Lake Mendocino which was about a 45 min drive. Blue Lakes is a smidge closer but the main beach was not yet open for the season.
While we were there they were working on lots of improvements, so the place is only growing for the better! Thanks for a fun and unique stay!
What can I say? This mountain cabin is the perfect combination of comfort, serenity and forest mystique. It's beautiful, the view is breathtaking, and the rustic feel is one of a kind. The drive up the mountain and the hike to Pinnacle Rock are just as excellent.
Our host Ken was very helpful and hospitable, going beyond what we expected, making our experience unforgettable. He seemed to be always around the area working extremely hard to help us and everyone on the property. He brought us ample firewood every day and showed us how to use everything on the premises, from the generator to the grill to the antique stoves and fireplaces. And of course our stay was ten times as joyful thanks to Dippy Doo and Roxie, the adorable dogs of the property.
We loved our time at precious forest! The tent cabin was lovely and warm with the wooden stove and the cutest campdog sleeping with us both nights. We enjoyed hiking around with the best dog as a tour guide and tasting wine at brass field. Would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a getaway in the mountains and awesome hospitality from Ken, crew, and pets! Ken was a great host and helped us with everything from working the stove to our hiking trails. Can't wait to come back one day!
The house was incredible. It was spacious, and comfortable and we had a blast. We had a great time cooking inside on the gas stove and outside on the firepit. The Clear Lake area is beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Ken was so hospitable and very helpful when we needed him. Its worth taking time to talk to him about the history of the place, and also he is just great guy to get to know. Our trip couldn't have gone better! Only wish it could have been longer.
Communicative, kind, and very clean. Would highly recommend Ken to everyone!
