Perfect place to relax and Enjoy biwako lake
Thank you very much for everything, it was fun for us and the children also, we are booking again for next month, this vz more people want to go. It was all exactly as it appears in the fotos.Claro going back!!
Good parts first: The area around the cabins is really beautiful. The leaves were at their peak and I got the chance to see a part of Japan that I never would have seen. A monkey crossing railroad tracks. Kids playing baseball. Really beautiful, clear night skies. Sunrise over the lake and mountains as I left. Yasu was a really nice guy and spoke good English. Kevin was very good about communicating about the booking promptly and clearly. The cabin was clean and warm though not fancy.
Less good: It's not an hour to Kyoto. 75 minutes if you get the direct train, which you won't always be able to get. Not including the trip to the station (10 minutes), figuring out a good time to catch a ride to the station, and the infrequent trains (1 or 2 an hour, depending on peak or off-peak). Figure on more like 2 hours. Your own car would be a good idea. I was given an incorrect contact number, which was disturbing. A full voice mailbox is not what you want to reach when alone in a railroad station in a foreign country. It's really out there, very secluded and I didn't fancy a night in the freezing station. Miraculously, Yasu picked me up - I still don't know how he knew I was there. The AC/heater was effective, but good luck reading the remote control if you don't speak Japanese. I could read the kanji and still ended up doing some button mashing. The bed was lumpy. I cooked, but understand that there is absolutely nothing around. Anything you want or need for the night needs to come with you.
All in all, good with the bad. I appreciated having the place to stay, though I would have liked more time in Kyoto. Make sure to get the correct phone number.
Kevin an wife were awesome guests, they even brought me gifts!!

I have had communication with Kevin only by mails, my daughter Marissa was in charge of the house, she and our helpers told me that Kevin and Yukie are a lovely, friendly and tidy people. We hope they will come again to our home.
Kevin and his wife were lovely people. They arrive on time and the comunications were excellent. They left everything clean and tidy. They are welcome back anytime.
Kevin and his wife were very great guests. Friendly, quiet, tidy and kind. We had a lovely chat with them and would gladly host them again.
Really happy travellers on a short stay to Sydney. Good communicators, really easy to deal with and left the place spotless.
