Massimo was very helpful. When we arrived, we were hungry and it was raining so he gave us a ride to a restaurant in his boat, which has great. He also offered to let us store our luggage if we wanted, although we didn't end up needing that. The place was clean and functional, although the cookware was mismatched.
So glad I was able to cancel a hotel stay on Lido and stay at Massimo's place for my family's (10 of us) 1-night stay. You HAVE to stay close to the heart of Venice if only staying a brief time as we were. Our 9pm arrival on the train from Rome still allowed us time for the short walk to the apartment to drop our bags and still get escorted by Massimo to a nearby restaurant he had arranged for us to enjoy a much-enjoyed late dinner. Layout, bed comfort and wifi well suited our brief stay. First thing the next morning, my wife and I strolled back toward where we arrived the previous night and enjoyed a brief traditional Italian breakfast, taking a stash of Nutella pastries back to our group. Soon after, we took two, 5-person shifts on his boat to get a mini private tour on the water, which all enjoyed. We were grateful to be allowed to store our luggage (backpacks) and were encouraged to forego the river taxi (10 euro pp) and bus (7.5 euro pp) and walk to the square (a manageable 30+ minute walk). This was a great way to see more of this unique island. We shopped, saw sights, enjoyed a great meal and took pictures. Some rain led us to take a river bus back to the rail station area, where some of made our way back to retrieve our backpacks. Overall, I would gladly recommend this apartment for a large group thanks to its convenience, fair price and attentive hospitality. Having the owner involved really helped to ensure a successful trip for all. Grazie, Massimo. thanks to you, we (or maybe just the wife and I) hope to return some day to enjoy the special city again!
Merci à Massimo pour son accueil et ses conseils pour visiter Venise. L’appartement est très bien situé, à 2 pas du Rialto, spacieux. Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable.
By European standards, this is a big and spacious apartment. The place was clean with heat and hot water. Nearby, a super market and number of smaller restaurants which are reasonably priced by Venice standards. City center is about 15-20 minutes away by foot which was all fine for us.
Massimo provided transportation from the station and for return, back to the airport at 4:00 AM in the morning, in his boat. In general, he is a very busy man but attends to the critical needs of his guests.
I wish we had more stable Wi-Fi and cleaner frying pans.
Massimo was a very kind hearted man who was very helpful to us. His flat is in a quiet area but not too far to walk to the main touristy areas. We enjoyed our stay.
Overall it was a great experience staying at Massimo's place. Location of the apartment was quite nice and Massimo's instructions to reach the place was dot on. Would highly recommend Massimo's place for people visiting Venice.
Few things that could be improved: Internet connection is not that great in the apartment which for me was quite a hassle, secondly few more things can be kept in kitchen, such as toaster, microwave, etc.
We were three, we reserved for a single night last minute and Massimo replied in less than 5 minutes. He picked up us in Canal Grande and took us home on his tiny boat. It was a foggy night and sailing through the narrowest channels of Cannareggio was an amazing experience. The apartment is nice and comfortable.
Thanks a lot to Massimo. We had a great time!
