The location is perfect, the apartment is spacious and has an old charm, Massimo is a very kind, gracious and helpful host - what more can you need in an AirBnB?
Communication was very good, Massimo was willing to come pick us up from the airport and took us to the apartment on his boat (with 2 rather large suitcases and a smaller carry-on). He was patient with us and we are very grateful! Very highly recommended!
I really liked Massimo's place and wish I was able to stay longer in it, as I was only there for a night. It's spacious, clean, and private. As others have noted, it is on the top of a very steep incline...kinda crazy how steep the stairs were so would not recommend carry heavy luggage up.
A couple of things were disappointing, though I understand this isn't a hotel and expectations need to be managed...communication with Massimo wasn't super consistent. I do think it has to do with his data or wifi or whatever. He was first responsive and then on the train ride there, fell silent. I was actually a bit nervous and thought I would need to get a hotel, as he disappeared. However, he reappeared and said he wasn't able to get data, etc. and apologized. Another thing was that he said he would meet at X, then pushed it back by 30 minutes and then didn't show up for 30 minutes after that. Might not seem like a big deal...however, after pushing the original time back and having a full day of travel myself, I was pretty exhausted and didn't want to explore while waiting.
The actual place was great - just seems that Massimo has a lot going on and is running lean on handling it all. If you have that in mind, all is good!
El departamento está bien situado. Las fotos corresponden a la realidad, hay q prepararse para muchos escalones, pero para una noche estuvo bien. Máximo fue un buen anfitrión.
Very good place. that I would recommend to all my friend and to all who will travel to Venice.
Massimo was a great host - he picked us up from the airport and took us by car and then by boat right to the apartment. He then took us on a boat tour of Venice the next night, which was lovely. Venice is so beautiful and the apartment is in a lovely, quiet area, close to some great restaurants and shops. Thanks for a great stay, Massimo!
Great Flat great location. Host was very helpful through entire process, even gave us a ride in his boat to his favorite restaurant! Only negative was I either got bed bug bites or mosquito bites but they didn't feel good for the next few days!
Messimo is a very customer orientated person and my experience with him is that he is able to guide you in any way, be it assisting to find your destination, recommending good restaurants, etc. He is a very nice man and he is always running around full throttle, doing his best for his customers. (He actually rushed to a nearby store to get toilet rolls for us the moment he found out that there were none)
The apartment is very big and there are a wide range of items which you need and its there. The only pity is that it is not wifi supported hence I hope the owner will look into that. (Though it is stated earlier that it has no Wifi) I believe patrons won't mind paying abit more as now Wifi to travellers are a part of their necessity.
Location wise on a bright side it is very near to the river banks and cafes and close to Rialto Bridge but it is not easy to find if you take small routes.
Apartment was fine and in a nice quiet neighbourhood. Perfect for escaping the tourists at the end of the day. The next street over had plenty of places to have a drink and eat, frequented by locals and buzzing on a Friday evening. Handy supermarket around the corner.
Massimo was polite and concerned that we found the apartment clean enough. Only hiccup was that although I had requested two beds to be made up, and my email request had been acknowledged and accepted, the sofa bed hadn't been made and Massimo said I hadn't asked! This was sorted and perhaps he is just very busy and forgot. I would recommend this apartment and would stay again if back in Venice.
Massimo was great to meet us after our train was delayed two hours with his busy schedule checking people in and out of multiple listings. After a short wait, he picked us up in his boat for a wonderful trip through the canals and then a stop at the restaurant of friends of his for lunch. The flat is larger than pictured and comfortable. Given the contraints of a city built in the water, it is not realistic to expect the same level of amenities as elsewhere. We had a great stay and only wish we could have been there longer.
Massimo was a great host. He picked us up from the train station in his boat and went out of his way to make sure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable.
The apartment was clean and tidy and in a very convenient location to explore beautiful Venice. Massimo gave us good advice on restaurants and how to find our way to the major sites, which were all in easy walking distance.
He also offered to take us to the airport for our trip back home for a very reasonable fee, which we greatly appreciated.
Four adults comfortably stayed in this apartment and I would highly recommend it!
