Accurate description, and lots of space for 6 people. Good directions too which was key to finding this place if you're not used to driving in Turks and Caicos. House was clean, view was great, and it definitely served our purposes as a basecamp for days at the beach and exploring the island. We had some minor issues (slow internet, a window that didn't stay up and a wasps' nest on the other side) and it definitely wasn't cheap, but for Turks it was a good deal and we were very happy here.
If you are looking for a decent spot to stay in turks and caicos with a large group, this would be a good place. I am a Airbnb host so there were certain things that happened that I'd never let happen on my property! One of them being it took almost 3 hours to find this place which is only 15 minutes from the airport! The directions given by the owner were so confusing! Let me help anyone who is planning on staying here. I was so pissed that it was so easy & the owner of the property, Aaron made it so difficult to find.
Leave the airport and drive on Leeward highway. When you see the IGA super market on your right hand side, continue up a bit further. When you reach the BEACHES roundabout, round it and go back down the highway on the other side. You will quickly see a GRANT’s gas station on your left hand side, take that left down a bumpy dirt path road. When you get to the very end you will see the driveway for the property on the right.
My other complaints were that the home advertised cable TV and internet. The cable TV was only about 20 channels at most and the internet was not strong enough and only worked about 40% of the time. This was a huge problem because though our group was here for a wedding, we are all self employed and were frustrated to not be able to email as needed. We rented this place because it mainly because it guaranteed us internet.
Upon arrival, the place smelled so musty and moldy, we couldn’t stand it. I asked the man downstairs (who maintains the property) to go get me about 6-7 glade plug ins, which he did immediately. He was lovely and quite accommodating.
The property could be a seriously lovely place to stay if the owner put some effort into making it nicer. The vegetation around the property is non existent and not maintained. The house inside could use a bit of an update. The rooms themselves are nothing to speak of. Exposed wires and such in the closets.
Out of 10 stars I would give this place a 4. I would never stay here again for the price. At over $3000 for the week, this was highly overpriced for what we received. For (phone number hidden) a week I could stay here again.
The Ritz it was not, with a rustic exterior and a basic interior, but it was inexpensive over the NYE holiday weekend and served as a centrally located base camp for four guys who wanted to experience the many beaches (breathtaking!) and excursions during the day, while chilling and cooking "at home" at night.
The house was tricky to find at first and down a very rocky road. In fact, our rental car got a flat tire on the first day. Just drive attentively and slowly.
The kitchen, with ample glassware, flatware, and dinnerware, served all of our needs, as we cooked breakfast and most dinners at the house. (Of course, we did have a professional cook in our group, who could deftly make his way around any situation.)
We didn't take advantage of the pool, but the deck was nicely situated to view all of the NYE firework displays along Grace Bay as well as the north, south, and east sides of the island. We also ate outside on the deck for most breakfasts and dinners. The breeze and starry sky made for an amazing backdrop.
We used the washer/dryer once. It worked well. Very convenient to have.
The property manager is extremely nice and helpful, as well as quick to reply via text and periodically check in with us to see how things were going. Need a DVD player? He got one for us.
Overall, I'd recommend the house if you're looking for an inexpensive, no frills stay or avoiding the agora of the big resorts (beware Beaches Resort!)
My family went to Turks and Caicos for 6 days and had a great experience in this place. It's a cozy, private house overlooking the south coast of Provo. Tidy, spacious place with basic amenities (kitchen is not fully stocked for intensive cooking), lounging on the balcony in the mornings, hanging out in the pool, etc.
It's conveniently located close to the main grocery store, right next to a gas station, and within 10-15 min driving distance of main tourist strip at Grace Bay.
There is a beach/marsh area within walking distance from the house which is probably worth exploring (although we didn't check it out ourselves), but the frequented beaches are 10-15 mins drive away (Grace Bay, Turtle Cove, etc.).
A great option for a family or group of friends who want a secluded, quiet spot overlooking the water, away from the busier tourist areas.
You can't go wrong in Providenciales! Grace Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world!
great guest, very polite and nice to deal with. He was very easy going. I didn't even know he showed up for his reservation. No complaints, no mess and wonderful to rent to . Thank you !!
