I am an American from West Chester, PA, outside of Philadelphia, just graduated from college, and I'll be living for the next year in China. Since September 2013, I've been working as a research assistant at the School of Psychology at South China Normal University in Guangzhou, in a lab that does work on Mandarin language processing: how Mandarin speakers extract semantic meaning from sentences and what parts of the brain are involved.
When I travel, it's all about the food for me. I eat everything and love trying the strangest food I can find. The meals are often the most satisfying part of my trip for me, whether they're on the side of the street or in a fancy restaurant, but I love to sight see, walk through parks, and enjoy the scenery.
Outside of traveling, I'm a big fan of ping pong and tennis, and I'm also getting into badminton. I also read science fiction and fantasy regularly (I'm a huge fan of Game of Thrones), and folding modular origami, board games, cooking and baking keep me busy as well.
