My bandmates and I planned a band retreat to a remote cabin in the mountains. Dan's place was exactly what we were looking for: ultimate privacy, ability to make noise playing music at all hours, decent proximity to a town if we needed anything. The only hitch in the experience was the driveway/road. The mountain roads get more winding and narrow the farther up you go, and pavement turns into dirt and gravel. We arrived after nightfall, and didn't make it up the driveway the first few tries. I drive a Subaru Impreza with AWD and manual transmission, but we were loaded down with gear, making the car much heavier and giving us only about 6" clearance. We eventually made it up the mountain once we picked up enough speed, barreling in first gear. Once we got to the cabin, it was perfect. Original 1860s cabin with added on bedroom, bathrooms, and kitchen was just beautiful. The view from the screened in porch was breathtaking. We enjoyed the wood stove each night. The tempur-pedic mattress was just what I needed to recharge. We hiked up the mountain behind the house and had an enjoyable adventure. The views on this property were truly a spectacle. We did go into town one day, and enjoyed local fare from organic grocery stores and coffeeshops. All in all, the cabin was beautifully preserved and maintained, and we were able to reset ourselves from the busy responsibilities of life. If you have a vehicle capable of climbing the hill, this Airbnb is definitely worth the journey. We hope to return next year.
Glad you enjoyed your stay, your welcome back anytime. We hope to get the drive up improved but it has been a challenge.
Thanks for your review.
Dan and Carol had a well deserved little anniversary getaway for themselves. Wonderful for them! They're a lovely couple and seemed to have enjoyed their private time together -and that's what we're here for! We hope they'll think about us when they're back in this area and next time bring their kids! A very clean, respectful and happy couple, hard to ask for better guests!
What a beautiful family. It was just a pleasure to welcome Dan and his family.
Really great family, warm and friendly and lovely kids.
Dan and his family stayed at my cottage two days this week. I enjoyed meeting and talking to them. They are a delightful family with two cute little girls. They left things clean and orderly. I hope to have them back again.
